When Vanderbilt University set out to create a law firm network five years ago, they sought out firms that were committed both to diversity and to constantly enhancing client service and value. Our people-first mentality and future-focused initiatives were the perfect fit—and we have been proactively responding to their needs ever since. Thank you to The American Lawyer for recognizing this collaboration by naming us a finalist for their Best Client-Law Firm Team award.

Meet Jillian Bridges, Husch Blackwell’s Communities for Change Coordinator! Working from our virtual office, The Link, Jill plays a vital role in advancing our Communities for Change program—a pro bono initiative focused on fostering economic empowerment for underrepresented businesses. In honor of the American Bar Association’s National Celebration of Pro Bono (October 20-26), we invite you to learn more about Jill and her impactful work: 🔶 What drew you to the role of Pro Bono Coordinator for Communities for Change? - I was initially drawn to the C4C Coordinator role because of my love for pro bono work in my previous role at Legal Aid of North Carolina, as well as the unique support the program provides to small and underrepresented businesses. My first job was at a small locally-owned business in South Raleigh, where I am originally from, and it's so rewarding to support folks who give back to their communities. 🔶What are your initial goals and plans for Communities for Change? - Some of my initial goals include serving more clients while gaining a better understanding of the unique mechanics of the C4C process, as well as working on possible additions or updates to the application process that may better support applicants and returning clients alike. 🔶What were you most excited about in joining Husch Blackwell? - I was most excited about joining a firm with a culture so unique and overwhelmingly welcoming! I joined #TeamHB in July 2024, and the last few months have been absolutely wonderful, and it was immediately apparent I joined people who love what they do. I am excited to settle into this role and build more relationships while also contributing to a program that is so very impactful. #probonoproud #probonostars #HBProBono
