Meet John Jansky Office: Chicago Law School: Loyola University ▪ Why did you choose Quarles? I started working for Quarles back in 2018 after graduating from UW-Madison with an engineering degree. I like the variety of work and the connections I've been able to form. Quarles has allowed me to develop professionally and has given me the support to pursue a career in IP law. I really enjoy the culture here. ▪ What are your favorite ways to spend your free time? In my free time, I enjoy trying new restaurants and traveling to experience new places with my wife Annie. I also enjoy watching sports (I’m an avid soccer fan), cooking/baking and working out.

Changes are underway in how states are handling providers’ offshoring of data under the Medicare and Medicaid programs. I choose to return to Quarles as a second-year summer associate because I know that Quarles offers an elevated program and provides a space that encourages and nurtures professional development. In short, I was able to experience the firm's culture and core values—observing them as they radiated through the Indianapolis office. These factors made my decision to return simply ineluctable. I am excited to learn and grow with Quarles this summer. ▪  What aspect of the legal profession excites you the most? The aspect of the legal profession that excites me the most is being able to experience my clients' joy with them and see the smiles on their faces after exceptional service has been rendered.

I chose Quarles & Brady because of the warm welcoming atmosphere and commitment to excellence in the legal field. Attending the firm's "Career Trek" event in the fall inspired me to apply because I could really visualize myself working there as a part of the team. ▪ What are you hoping to get out of your summer experience here? I am excited for the opportunity to learn about the legal field and see the realities of practicing law. I can’t wait to see how the legal theory and doctrines that I have learned so far are used and applied in a real-world setting.
