  • In honor of Women in Construction Week, we recognize and celebrate all the women working in construction, especially those in the HWC family! Last fall, we followed HWC Construction Inspector, Leslie Jones, on ‘A Day on the Jobsite’ at the West 62nd Street and Cooper Road project for the City of Indianapolis Department of Public Works and INDOT. Today, we are extra thankful for Leslie and the dedication she pours into each of her projects. The same goes for all our “women in construction” at HWC! Thank you for all that you do and happy Women in Construction Week!

  • To close out National Surveyors Week, we proudly recognize HWC’s talented Survey Group as a whole! Our Survey team features licensed surveyors with broad experience in both field and office surveying techniques, working on projects ranging from small lot surveys to 20-mile route surveys. Our surveyors possess the technical knowledge to adopt and properly utilize cutting-edge technology, while still following the time-honored practices widely accepted in the surveying profession. Our Survey team provides a wide variety of services, including ALTA/NSPS land title survey, boundary survey, construction staking, drone imagery, platting/monumentation, record drawings, route survey, utility survey, and topographic survey. This month, our Survey Group is celebrating its 10th anniversary as an all-services engineering department here at HWC! Your hard work and dedication is much appreciated! Pictured are just some of our awesome surveyors! #NSW #NationalSurveyorsWeek

  • Did you know HWC’s Survey team provides as-built/record drawings for projects? An as-built drawing is typically completed after a project is constructed and records all the final locations. This is important to developers, contractors, municipalities, and engineers for final close-out documentation. As-built drawings are also incorporated into GIS layers to help the municipalities and public understand the location of underground utilities. HWC is proud our Survey team can offer this service for our clients! #NSW #NationalSurveyorsWeek

  • HWC is providing survey services for Marion’s Ballard Field. The field is a 42.03-acre site situated within the City limits of Marion, Grant County, Indiana on the southerly bank of the Mississinewa River. The site, formerly comprised of circa 1800s residential housing, will establish several soccer fields for sport and leisure activities. The houses are no longer present, but the remnants of the streets, sidewalks, and faint evidence of building footprints still remain. Our surveyors are proud to be assisting Marion’s Mayor Morrell and his team on this project! #NSW #NationalSurveyorsWeek

  • HWC enjoyed seeing clients in French Lick during last week’s Alliance of Indiana Rural Water (AIRW) Spring Conference! HWC’s Dick Weigel, Eric Smith, Chris Franz, Rachel Steckler, Josh Goode, Troy Swan, and Jon Query are pictured at the conference.

  • Happy National Surveyors Week! Did you know LiDAR stands for “Light Detection and Ranging”? At HWC, our Survey staff uses the latest and greatest LiDAR technology to collect existing conditions and aerials. This information is used to create detailed topographic surveys and 3D models that are utilized within projects across all of our departments. #NSW #NationalSurveyorsWeek
