#Formula1 is often called a traveling circus, and we mean that in the best possible way! A huge event involving 20 teams, 40 drivers, hundreds if not thousands of team members plus all the gear that goes with them travels the world as they put on an incredible show to the delight of the hundreds of thousands of fans that turn out every weekend. Behind the scenes, it is an enormous logistical and operational exercise that requires all manner of smart thinking to make it all happen. A big #thankyou to I Squared’s 16 summer interns for their hard work and dedication over the past 10 weeks.  We are beyond grateful for their contributions to the company and we wish them the best of luck as they go back to school to continue their studies this fall. This past summer, we hosted interns in our Miami headquarters across six teams: North America Investment Team, Credit Investment Team, America’s Asset Management Team, LatAm Investment Team, Investor Relations and Communications. Over the past 2 and half months, I Squared interns had the opportunity to participate in structured team building activities and gained valuable real-life experience in infrastructure investing. Throughout the internship program, students worked alongside our industry experts on projects, giving them valuable mentorship experience. ICYMI - @Whistler Pipeline will be constructing a new much-needed pipeline in Texas to transport natural gas.   Why does this matter? There is an excess of natural gas production in the Permian Basin in West Texas and there’s not enough pipeline capacity to transport it. Without pipeline capacity, natural gas producers have been flaring off excess natural gas (essentially wasting it) and in some instances paying for the privilege of extracting it.   That is why the group of industry experts and financial sponsors behind Whistler Pipeline - I Squared Capital, WhiteWater, Enbridge, MPLX GP LLC and Targa Resources– have teamed up to build the Blackcomb pipeline. This new pipe – underwritten with long term contracts -- will help alleviate constraints in the transportation of natural gas and will help meet growing energy needs from data centers in Texas -- as well as satiate demand for LNG exports. The Blackcomb pipeline will stretch 400+ miles from the oil-rich region of the Permian Basin to the gulf coast of Texas for LNG exports and will be operational by the end of 2026. The WhiteWater team behind @Whistler has a proven track record of success. This deal wouldn’t have been possible without the deep industry knowledge and dedication from this group. Today marks two new investments in a very similar sector but on different sides of the Atlantic. The company owns and operates its own electricity distribution network in the UK connecting customers to "last mile" infrastructure. The electrical equipment involved includes switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers and power cables that will support new technologies being added to the grid like EV charging stations, battery  storage sites, commercial and industrial business electrification as well as new residential housing developments.
