Unruh Jr., Michael St. Laurent, and Federal team members Sandra Pavlovic, Greg Fall, and Fernando Salas, contributed to updating the NOAA Atlas 14 Volume 12 Precipitation Frequency Estimates for the Interior Northwest of the United States. This work helps to provide updated, reliable information on extreme rainfall events, which is crucial for hydrologic design, floodplain management, and infrastructure planning. Only 14,360 more pounds of debris to remove before the PMDP team reaches their goal of 1 MILLION POUNDS! With less than two weeks to go, the team is heading out each day, working fiercely to meet their goal. This is no easy task, as they remove entanglement hazards from coral reef environments via breath-hold snorkeling (freediving). No day is the same, with rapidly changing conditions and even encounters with wildlife (like helping to free green sea turtles from nets). IBSS attended Silver Spring International Middle School's Back-to-School Night where we handed out school supplies to students.
