As part of ENR's Mountain States Top Specialty Contractors list, they also looked at different sectors to see where everyone ranked. We're proud to say ICM Colorado is ranked #2 for structural steel with over $34 million in revenue for structural steel projects. Steel has always been one of our specialties, and we've been lucky enough to be able to work on some very cool projects where structural steel is involved. https://lnkd.in/gVRdvD8X

The Pueblo Board Of Water Works wanted to leverage the high pressure of water flowing into the city's water treatment plant by purchasing two hydro turbines, which once installed, would capture the water’s energy on-site, generate electricity, and then return the water to its normal treatment process. ICM Colorado was hired to install the hydro turbines and its associated equipment, which were placed in parallel to the existing pressure-dissipation plumbing, enabling the old valves to still be used if the facility needs supplemental flow, or if the turbines need to be taken down for maintenance. ICM Colorado excavated and built the foundation, which consisted of over 650 yards of concrete. We constructed a pre-engineered building to house and protect the equipment, which served as the central hub for the hydroelectric power generation system. The building had to be erected and temperature heat needed to be used before the turbines and generators could be installed in the building. Cranes plans were developed to install the turbines, along with a generator, exciter, control system, and Hydraulic Power Unit (HPU) all through roof hatches designed in the building. This was followed by the installation of all the associated piping, strainers, butterfly valves, actuators, and large bore process piping. This project provided a significant benefit to the people of Pueblo in the form of continued water supply, mixed with new power generation, at a time when both resources are being strained due to climate change.

ENR Mountain States just released their Top Regional Specialty Contractor list and we are number 11! Our executive vice president Jamie Hodges spoke to Engineering News-Record about the "wait and see" mentality a lot of firms have right now since some projects are on hold because of the upcoming election and high interest rates. At ICM Colorado, we're taking the time to strengthen internal processes and training so we can hit the ground running in the new year. Read more in Engineering News-Record. https://lnkd.in/gsYpnM9c

Our Director of Client Relations Rick Goodmay presented at the September International Association of Baggage System Companies (IABSC) meeting in Vegas recently. The panel Rick was on covered some of the challenges encountered when bidding and pricing projects as well as labor challenges and cost-saving strategies. Our EVP Jamie Hodges attended the event and here's what he had to say: "The collaboration we've had with IABSC and its members has been incredible, and events like these help all of us grow as an industry. Rick and the other panelists did a great job bringing to light things that can help everyone as we work on airport and baggage system projects."

Both our Pueblo and Commerce City offices are now certified with the American Institute of Steel Construction. The process to get both offices certified required a comprehensive audit that our teams spent months preparing for. Congrats to the team for all their hard work. We're proud to have both offices now AISC-certified.
