Call for Industry Volunteers: Join Us for CS Ed Week in Idaho! Are you passionate about inspiring the next generation of tech innovators? You don’t need coding experience to make a difference! The Idaho STEM Action Center, our founding member, is coordinating industry volunteers for Computer Science Education Week (December 9-15, 2024). This is a unique opportunity to help K-12 students explore computer science and coding through hands-on activities like the #HourOfCode. What is CS Ed Week? Computer Science Education Week (#CSEdWeek) is an annual event that raises awareness about the rich educational and career opportunities available in computer science. During this week, classrooms across Idaho will be hosting activities, and we need volunteers to support students as they learn basic coding skills. Whether you're an industry expert or new to coding, your enthusiasm and support are what counts! Why Volunteer? - Inspire students to explore careers in tech. - Help close the gap in computer science education. - Be part of Idaho's statewide movement to foster innovation and skills for the future. If you're ready to inspire and engage with Idaho's students, learn more here https://lnkd.in/gwkSQUtr or contact Katie Bosch-Wilson (katie.boschwilson@stem.idaho.gov) at the Idaho STEM Action Center for more details and to sign up! Let’s make a difference together during #CSEdWeek!

A 5th-grade lesson on critical thinking. Try the AI Lesson Plan Platform for yourself: https://lnkd.in/gn7ycvaE Fun fact, I helped model the design for a flying car concept back in 2017, but it didn't take off😂... Our AI Lesson Plan Platform is, though!

Data surrounds us and is being collected at an astounding rate. It’s in the air we breathe, the loyalty card we use at the grocery store, and the television shows we watch. AI consumes this extraordinary amount of information and uses it to solve problems and execute tasks. Join TGR Foundation and Robert Grover, CEO of databot.usa in this fast-paced, 60-minute workshop as we explore the critical need for #data literacy in the #K12 classroom and some exciting ways to leverage #AI for that purpose. Randy Kolset, Administrator of Educational Technology for Orange Unified School District, will be joining us and sharing how his district is using AI tools and addressing the growing need for K12 data literacy through practical, innovative approaches. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁! This highly interactive workshop will introduce you to several unique applications of AI in the K12 classroom while you have fun solving a data-rich mystery with your colleagues. All participants will receive free software and lesson resources to take an exciting “Data Mystery” back to the classroom. By joining this interactive workshop, educators will: * Understand how data and AI intersect and the implications for student learning * Experience an interactive lesson focused on the application of AI in K-12 education * Leave with free resources in data and AI to take back to the classroom * Receive one hour of Professional Development credit from TGR Foundation 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲! https://lnkd.in/g8Sd-puU #k12datascience #STEMeducation #STEAMeducation #STEM #STEAM #sensorscience #AIforGood #datamystery #coding #K12AI #DS4E #databot #TGRFoundation #PD #workshop #webinar #lessonplans #DoDSTEM
