Post-Graduate Student Major in MSc. Photonic Engineering | Bachelor of Computer And Communication Systems Engineering (CCSE) in Universiti Putra Malaysia, Serdang
Thrilled to have been part of the 2024 IEEE 10th International Conference on Photonics held in Pulau Pinang, Malaysia, themed "Next Generation Photonics for a Sustainable World." From August 27-29, I had the privilege to serve as part of the student committee, helping organize and participate in an unforgettable week filled with dynamic discussions, networking opportunities, and hands-on engagement with some of the brightest minds in the field. Being surrounded by industry leaders, researchers, and fellow enthusiasts in photonics was truly inspiring, and I am grateful for the knowledge and connections gained—a big thank you to the IEEE Photonics Society Malaysia Chapter (MyIPS) for this remarkable experience. I am eager to take this knowledge forward and continue contributing to the growth of photonics research, particularly in advancing sustainable solutions.

Be sure to join me in two weeks for an IEEE Entrepreneurship Webinar entitled, "Commercializing Basic Research via a Multinational Startup". https://lnkd.in/ghJtNVje 🗓️ Date: September 17, 2024 🕒 Time: 9:00-10:30 AM PDT (12:00-13:30 EST) In this presentation I will cover the commercialization of a novel optical coating technique stemming from basic R&D in cavity optomechanics, leading to the founding and growth of Crystalline Mirror Solutions, which was ultimately acquired by Thorlabs. I will also discuss the supporting infrastructure and funding schemes that facilitated the commercialization of this technology. Finally, I aim to stimulate discussions on entrepreneurship and small business development, comparing experiences in Europe and the US. I would like to thank Daniel Renner and the IEEE Photonics Society for the invitation and I look forward to seeing you there!

Big news! We're on IEEE Photonic Technology Letters (IEEE Photonics Society) with a new article by Monica Crico, Samuele De Gaetano, Andrés Iván Martínez Rojas, Francesco Morichetti, Andrea Melloni, Giorgio Ferrari, Marco Sampietro and Francesco Zanetto! In this work, titled "Monolithic Transimpedance Amplifier for On-Chip Light Monitoring in Pure Silicon Photonics", we present a functional design of a monolithic transimpedance amplifier integrated into a pure silicon photonics platform, with a zero-change zero-cost approach. The designed amplifier, with a transimpedance gain of 10 kΩ, can read light signals up to 2 MHz and as low as −40 dBm. It converts the photogenerated current from integrated germanium photodiodes into voltage signals on a photonic chip, making it ideal for monitoring photonic devices across various applications.
