Another month of free fair housing education from our partners at Fair Housing Center of Central Indiana (FHCCI)!
It's just about that time of year - to set our clocks back, watch the leaves fall, and before you know it, the holiday season will be upon us. BUT, not so fast! There are still numerous opportunities for you to get your #FairHousing training in before the year ends. We are offering a Fair Housing Basics AND a Fair Housing Disability training EVERY MONTH through January 2025! Plus, our series includes several special topics trainings as well. Check out the lineup for October below! (Hint: if you know any #realtors, #mortgagelender, #appraisers, or anyone else working in/around selling homes, they should check out our FH90 training on 10/29!) All of these trainings are FREE and virtual, but advanced registration is required: www.fhcci.org/events Thanks to Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA), Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs, and U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for making these trainings possible.

We are thrilled to announce this year's participants for the My Community, My Vision (#MCMV) program! Mishawaka Mayor Dave Wood Youth Advisory Council, Terre Haute Mayor’s Youth Council, Union City Playground Paradise and Oldenburg Entrepreneurship Council will participate in a six-month program consisting of in-person workshops and self-guided curriculum to assist them in planning and fundraising for a place-based community project. Utilizing elements of our CreatINg Places program, student groups who successfully strategize, plan and raise a fundraising goal of between $5,000 and $25,000 towards their community project in the program’s duration will receive a matching grant from IHCDA. Youth councils, alongside their nonprofit or local unit of government sponsor, will work throughout the spring semester to determine a project, craft a budget, develop a fundraising goal and strategy, and raise the needed funds for all materials during a 30-45-day fundraising campaign. Students will attend virtual and in-person workshops to learn about placemaking, fundraising strategies, and stakeholder engagement to give students knowledge about the aspects of community planning, help reach their set project goal and provide networking and leadership opportunities. At the final in-person workshop, students will present their work and success to their peers and Indiana's community development leaders.
