We are pleased to share the exciting news that Viridiana Santacruz has joined the Illumen Capital team as a Bias Reduction intern this Fall. Viri is dedicated to #socialimpact work and started her career at the Draper Richard Kaplan Foundation, a venture philanthropy dedicated to helping scale early-stage nonprofits and social enterprises. She then joined Emerson Collective and has spent the last two years sourcing and supporting a diverse group of immigrant justice organizations. This past summer, Viri interned at The Bridgespan Group as an MBA summer consultant. Viri is a first-generation college graduate and attended Stanford University, where she majored in Economics. She is currently a second-year, full-time MBA student at UC Berkeley Haas School of Business. We are pleased to share the exciting news that Femi Olonilua, CPA has joined the Illumen Capital team as an Investment intern this Fall. Femi Olonilua is passionate about leveraging finance and technology to drive positive #socialimpact, particularly in underserved communities and emerging markets. Prior to interning at Illumen Capital, Femi was a Management Consultant at Bain & Company. She previously held roles at Deloitte in their Digital Controllership practice and PwC in the Asset & Wealth Management sector. Most recently, Femi completed a research fellowship in Côte d'Ivoire, collaborating with former Prime Minister on #genderinclusion initiatives. Femi is currently pursuing dual graduate degrees - an MPA at Harvard Kennedy School and an MBA at Cornell Johnson. She holds a B.A. in Economics from Stony Brook University and is a Certified Public Accountant in New York State. Please join us in welcoming Femi to the Illumen Capital team!

We recently gathered friends and family of Illumen Capital for an inspiring screening of Show Her The Money! We are pleased to share the exciting news that Saadhvi Mamidi has joined the Illumen Capital team as an Operations and Investor Relations intern this Fall. Saadhvi Mamidi is dedicated to advancing the triple bottom line and believes that financial capital is a powerful catalyst for change. Before interning at Illumen Capital, she interned at BCG and contributed to research at Engine, a policy coalition advocating for startups, to promote a more equitable ecosystem. She has also served as a Venture Capital Fellow at Halogen Ventures and EduLab Capital Partners. Saadhvi is currently pursuing a B.A. in Economics with minors in Data Science and Business at The University of North Carolina, where she was awarded a full-tuition Pogue Scholarship. Illumen Capital is delighted to announce the launch of its inaugural #internship cohort this Fall! We are thrilled to welcome Femi Olonilua, CPA, Saadhvi Mamidi, and Viridiana Santacruz and are grateful for the opportunity to mentor the next generation of #socialimpact leaders.   Throughout the recruiting process, Illumen’s proprietary #biasreduction toolkit provided invaluable guidance to ensure that we attracted a diverse pool of candidates by providing tips on how to write an inclusive job description and remove bias from the interview process; namely, by reflecting on our own biases before facilitating an interview and asking each candidate the same set of predetermined questions.   Illumen will be posting weekly spotlights of our interns to highlight the wonderful work that they are doing, so stay tuned! ⭐⭐⭐
