    ⚡ Enhancing Stability in Multi-VSG Systems With the rise of distributed generation (DG) in modern power systems, challenges to system stability arise due to decreased inertia and frequency stability. Virtual synchronous generators (VSGs) have emerged as a popular solution to provide frequency and voltage support in microgrids, particularly during islanding mode operation. However, power oscillations in VSGs, especially in multi-VSG systems, present significant challenges. Existing methods focus on single VSGs or introduce complex control strategies. In 2024, Yang and team propose a methodology to suppress transient circulating power in multi-VSG systems without side effects, establishing parameter design rules and introducing an enhanced VSG (EVSG) control strategy. Comparing conventional VSG and EVSG operation, both successfully eliminate transient circulating power and frequency oscillation under ideal conditions, as evidenced by synchronized frequency changes and suppressed power oscillations during load steps. Notably, the EVSG's ability to adjust a-b parameters offers further transient suppression, with slight improvements observed through fine-tuning. Additionally, the EVSG provides equivalent inertia support to the grid, reducing the rate of change of frequency (ROCOF) during load disturbances and showcasing slower frequency response speeds for improved grid stability. Simulink models of power systems can be seamlessly integrated into the drawers of the CHP cabinets, allowing for real-time emulation and analysis. With the capability to dynamically adjust model parameters such as reference power and frequency, you can simulate various scenarios to gain deeper insights into system behavior. By emulating different conditions, including sudden load changes and parameter uncertainties, the CHP facilitates comprehensive analysis and validation of proposed control methods. This integrated approach enables efficient experimentation and validation of control strategies, ultimately contributing to the development of more stable and reliable multi-VSG systems.
