AI-driven Scheduling and Management Platform for Modern Nursing Teams.

About us

"In the wake of the pandemic, as headlines piled up describing mounting shortages at the bedside, we watched in wonder as external staffing agencies grew rapidly and seemed always in the spotlight. All we ever heard from our friends, family and colleagues in nursing was frustration about overreliance on agency ('I would have taken that shift! Why did it go to an agency nurse?'). Despite this, the problems in the nursing workforce seemed to be increasingly answered by 'we'll outsource'. As we dug deeper, we recognized that the rise in agency was driven not just by extra pay, but particularly by the flexibility and control that going to agency gave nurses, which they could not find as full-time employees of health systems. This is where the name 'In-House' comes from: our firm belief that with the right tools, nursing workforces from within the care delivery system can structure themselves effectively to respond to the mounting crisis, meet the ever-rising demand for nursing care, and again make bedside nursing a career of choice that draws aspiring healthcare professionals." From hospitals to post-acute care, labor costs are a major factor impacting margins across healthcare. On average, labor makes up over 60% of hospital expenses, the single most expensive line item. Hospitals are also seeing a 10.4% rise in labor costs, driven by longer patient stays, often impacted by post-acute care providers limiting admissions due to staffing shortages. In post-acute care, over 55% of nursing homes are operating at a financial loss, largely driven by labor expenses. ✨ Enter AI. AI enables precision in managing labor cost, unlocking the potential for more complex and efficient labor structures that were previously out of reach. Specifically, In-House Health’s platform powered by AI goes beyond simply filling shifts– it helps reduce costs tied to overtime, agency use, and eliminate inefficient scheduling models that overburden the workforce. By improving staffing efficiency, we empower healthcare providers to meet patient demand while protecting their margins by reducing annual labor costs by an avg. of 10.4%, addressing one of the biggest cost drivers in the industry today.  #AInursing #AIhealthcare #workforce #nursing #scheduling

From Anarghya Vardhana's blog post today on "Solving healthcare’s labor challenges". Thanks Anarghya for the recognition on what we're doing to support the clinical workforce through predictive, automated scheduling. 😊 --- Another company tackling the space is In-House Health, an AI-driven nurse scheduling platform. Ari Brenner, the company’s founder, agreed that awareness of healthcare labor challenges is at an all-time high. However, he clarified, "It's not correct to say it's just a shortage—it's less of a raw shortage, and much more of a fundamental, shaky unsustainability of the workforce." He explained that this is largely due to rapid nurse turnover, which is something we need to be paying far more attention to as an industry: "Nurses are changing jobs twice as fast now. Whether through an agency or a different hospital, they're constantly moving. When your workforce is churning that quickly, it feels like a shortage, even if the fundamental supply hasn't changed." Ari emphasized that nurses are seeking sustainable and fair working conditions. They are looking for flexibility and control, trying to balance work and family—especially younger entrants to the workforce. Ari said there’s a huge need for tools to predict scheduling needs, free up capacity, provide stability, and avoid last-minute gaps.

Co-founder | Chief Nursing Officer | Product Evangelist @ In-House Health. Optimizing nurse scheduling to empower healthcare providers.

McKinsey & Company recently conducted a report titled "The Pulse of Nurses' Perspectives on AI in Healthcare Delivery." The survey included over 7,200 nurses. Key findings include: ➤ 64% of #nurses want more AI tools in their work. ↳ AI has the potential to reduce administrative burdens, staffing issues, and heavy workloads. ↳  However, the introduction of AI tools must be thoughtful and ensure they are truly beneficial. ➤ 73% of nurses believe their input is essential in designing AI solutions. ↳ Nurses have deep knowledge of patient care. ↳ Their insights are critical for creating practical and safe AI systems. From my perspective, I believe that AI solutions must meet several key criteria: ☑️ Time-saving: AI should streamline tasks, allowing more time for patient care. ☑️ Transparency & Trust: AI systems must integrate smoothly into workflows and be easy to understand. ☑️ Collaboration: AI should complement, not replace, the human touch in healthcare. AI can transform healthcare, but it must be developed with nurses in mind. What do you think? How do you see AI fitting into your daily work as a nurse? What AI tools would make your job easier while keeping care personal? The link to the full report is provided in the first comment. #NursingInnovation #AIinHealthcare #HealthcareTransformation #NursesVoice

New on the In House Health Blog: The Shift Dilemma – How Long Should a "Standard" Nursing Shift Be? The debate between 8-hour and 12-hour nursing shifts is ongoing. While 8-hour shifts can help reduce fatigue and improve focus, 12-hour shifts offer better care continuity and fewer handovers, though they often lead to burnout. At the same time, flexible scheduling is gaining momentum as a new trend. It offers nurses more control over their shifts, balancing personal needs with patient care, but also brings challenges in planning and execution. Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/d2HfkE3K 💬 What shift structures are in place at your facility, and what do you consider the ideal shift? #AIhealthcare #Nursing #AInursing #Nursescheduling #FlexibleScheduling

5 Ways AI Supports Nurses Without Trying to Replace Them: Compliance and Regulation Keeping nurse scheduling in compliance is a balancing act that involves far more than simply filling shifts. Nurse managers need to juggle federal regulations, state labor laws, union agreements, facility policies, and even specific network standards. It’s almost impossible for a person to manually track all of these factors—especially when they’re constantly changing. Missing just one detail can result in costly penalties, staff burnout, or compromised patient care. In-House Health eliminates that complexity. Our platform automatically considers every regulation—whether it’s federal work-hour limits, state-mandated nurse-patient ratios, union overtime rules, or internal policy guidelines—and builds compliant schedules in a fraction of the time. By automating the most difficult aspects of scheduling, we help ensure that no factor is overlooked, reducing the risk of non-compliance while saving valuable hours for nurse managers and administrators. By handling the time-consuming administrative tasks, we allow nurse managers to focus on what they’re most passionate about—delivering high-quality patient care. With In-House Health, they can spend less time on paperwork and more time leading their teams, improving patient outcomes, and fostering a positive work environment. #AIhealthcare #nursing #nursestaffing #AInursing #workforce
