“2024 Doctor Of Excellence” Award-Winning Educator, Advocate, Social Justice Change-Maker, Certified DEI Consultant, & Empowerment Speaker With Effective Presenting, Researching, & Strategic Organizational Skills.

🙌🏽🖤🙌🏽 “I AM OFFICIALLY DEI CERTIFIED!” 🙌🏽❤️🙌🏽 “Be Teachable & Be Willing To Learn!!!” I am extremely proud to say that I am “Officially DEI Certified”! I initially contemplated furthering my education, especially after just finishing my PHD this year. After months of pondering, I realized this was definitely an extra step I needed to take, especially as I aspire to serve as an effective DEI Consultant! Afterwards, I deliberated over which program to enroll in because I wanted to make sure that after completion, I would feel even more confident about my future endeavors. If there is one thing that I have learned in life, it is that if I desire to make a significant difference in the world & in my career, I must be willing to sacrifice and be willing to learn as society continues to change. As adults, we must always “Be Teachable & Be Willing to Learn”! As a Black woman, I have realized the racial disparities, the disproportionalities, and the lack of clear equity policies that exist within various organizations as it relates to providing better support to certain demographics. To add insult to injury, after the tragic death of George Floyd, I even noticed how many organizations immediately begin to implement DEI initiatives to only either dismantle them in recent years or fail to implement these initiatives with fidelity. This is unacceptable. As a result, my desire was & is to serve in the capacity to aid and assist in bringing awareness to the importance of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, but also help organizations understand the importance of auditing their current state and also learn how to implement a plan of action. This only makes organizations better. Thank you to Mr. James Felton Keith for being a great Instructor. You are extremely knowledgeable, and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to learn from you. To be the best, it is definitely a blessing to be able to learn from the best. It is because of you, people like me can continue to feel proud of our beliefs, morals, and our ability to bring about positive social change. My desire is to continue making an impact & setting a course for change. Thank you to the University of Georgia’s Executive Leadership Program for providing my Co-Hort & I with a profound learning opportunity in your D & I Professional Certificate Program. I am extremely grateful that I invested in this impactful learning opportunity! #Wednesday #Education #DEI #Speaker UGA Executive Education InclusionScore #ChangeMaker #SocialChange #Justice

Executive Therapist | Wellbeing Strategist | Advocate for a Better Workplace

“Companies still have important work to do. Companies have taken steps to foster inclusion, but it’s not enough.” James Felton Keith is shaking things up! This week, we’re diving deep into diversity and inclusion at the Service Management Forum. Time to check in: 🚩Are you ensuring that D&I principles related to fairness, equity, equality, and transparency are integrated into systems, plans, policies, procedures, and processes? 🚩Is your team treating colleagues, customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders with respect and fairness? 🚩Can your team measure the number of accommodations and reasonable adjustments requested and satisfied? 🚩Does your team build sensitivity, conviction, compassion, respectful behavior, and inclusiveness into learning and development? Are you designing session goals to mitigate bias and foster diverse perspectives? The time is now. #DEIStandards #InclusionScore #DiversityAndInclusion #ServiceManagement #JFK #DataIsLabor Kharena Keith Coleman, M.Ed, InclusionScore

Miss New York USA Marizza Delgado to Young Girls in STEM: “You Deserve a Seat at the Table” 👏 "Regardless if it’s a matter of crunching numbers or earning crowns, for Filipino-American beauty queen and data scientist Marizza Delgado, the possibilities are endless. A typical morning for the newly crowned Miss New York USA starts like this: she gets ready for work as a data scientist at Rent the Runway, where she uses her skills to collect data for smoother user experiences. Then, depending on what the day calls for, the beauty queen switches codes and prepares for interviews and speaking engagements as Miss New York USA, or packs for an actual runway or shoot as a fashion model. For a generation who grew up with Barbie movies and Hannah Montana, it seems natural to live vicariously through women like Marizza Delgado: someone who enjoys the 'best of both worlds.' Delgado is a first generation Filipino immigrant, and is the first Filipina to hold the title of Miss New York USA. As somebody who started joining pageants in her teenage years, the title holder says the victory was very well earned. 'This was such a dream of mine, and honestly has been years in the making.' Aside from her day-to-day data scientist job, Delgado is also affiliated with the organization Girls Who Code, a nonprofit organization that encourages young women to venture into computer science. 'I want to inspire young girls to pursue careers in male-dominated fields. In tech, only 25% of tech roles are held by women, but only 10% are held by women of color,' she explains. 'Through leading by example, I want to show these young girls that they deserve a seat at the table. They belong here and that we can close this gender gap in technology in our lifetime.'" I work remotely roughly 90% of the time. My peak “travel season,” as I lovingly call it, occurs in early fall most years. It’s during this time that the annual conferences and in-person sessions take place, and I get the opportunity to be energized by connecting with others #IRL (meaning “in real life,” acronym courtesy of my [Gen A & Z] children). When I say travel season made its mark this year, I’m not exaggerating! A couple of weeks ago, I experienced a truly #insightful and #impactful conference that emphasized providing attendees actionable strategies for advancing inclusion and diversity efforts within their own organizations. The Business Insurance DEI Leadership Conference fostered meaningful networking opportunities and featured knowledgeable speakers who not only shared their valuable expertise, but practical takeaways too! The sessions also provided relevant metrics on industry progress & opportunities in diversity and inclusion. Among my favorite sessions were the panel featuring the finalists and winner of the US Insurance DEI Initiative of the Year award and "Valuing Diversity: How the Insurance Industry Prices the Cost of Exclusion." I’m grateful for the experience and the connections made. This was one for the books! #BI_DiversityInclusion #DEIStillMatters #Networking #Leadership #InclusivePractices #DiversityEquityInclusion #LeadershipConference #TheLongGame
