The Philadelphia Tribune and IBX's #OurCommunityOurHealth campaign returns to highlight health disparities in the African American community as well as systemic issues that may impact positive health outcomes. Through creating healthy habits, staying up to date with vaccines, knowing your family health history, exercising, and eating healthy, we can address health disparities in the African American community and improve the health of generations to come. Thank you to new ambassadors Ala Stanford, MD, FACS, FAAP and Nicole Allen White, and returning ambassadors Charisse Lillie, Douglas I. Oliver, Joe Tucker, and Dr. Leroy D. Nunery II, NACD.DC for encouraging positive steps toward better health. https://lnkd.in/e_x6fuJx

Happy National Coming Out Day! Celebrated every year on October 11, this observance recognizes the courage it takes to be openly LGBTQIA+ in our society. IBX associate Moss (Moxi) Stern (she/her) explains why coming out can be so risky, why being out matters, and why families, communities, and employers should be welcoming and accepting of people who are LGBTQIA+.

We’re proud to be working with Wakefern Food Corp. to help Medicare beneficiaries and new members enrolled in Medicare sign up for and learn more about Medicare Advantage plans this fall! Having information and IBX representatives present in over 20 local ShopRite, The Fresh Grocer, and Price Rite locations in the area will give more people a chance to talk to someone in person about their health care needs and what plan may work for them. 🏥 🙌 https://lnkd.in/esyfcXQ6

Transforming Healthcare Through Nutrition | Co-Founder & CEO at FareRx | Proud Dad of 4 Kids Under 6
💡 "The best way to predict the future is to create it." 🏙 Yesterday, Independence Blue Cross invited hundreds of members to their headquarters for their Annual Health Equity Summit. Instead of leaders talking amongst themselves, the summit provided members with direct access to the very people driving change, ensuring that their voices were not only heard but used to shape the future of healthcare equity. Seun Ross, DNP, MS, CRNP-F, NP-C kicked off the day with that quote and was followed by thought provoking discussions with Daniel Dawes, Ala Stanford, MD, FACS, FAAP, Kenyatta James, Sharrelle Barber, ScD, MPH, and Beth McConnell. Members also explored the expo, discovering more of the benefits available to them. Our FareRx team had the opportunity to connect with dozens of members to better understand their nutrition needs and how we can continue to support them. I then had the honor of sharing the stage with Adaeze Enekwechi and Randy Kunkle to share how Cayaba Care, M&T Bank, and FareRx are currently working with IBX members to put health equity work into action. Yesterday’s summit was a powerful reminder that real change happens when we come together, listen, and take action. What role do you think collaboration plays in creating lasting impact?
