Another great highlight featuring our own Chef de Cuisine!
Club chefs are tasked with crafting plates that represent themselves but also cater to club members’ tastes, while still pushing boundaries and exceeding expectations at every meal. “Making a dish look pretty is essential in the culinary artistry that we do to elevate a meal from a basic to an extraordinary experience,” says Zouhair Bellout, Culinary Director and Executive Chef of Reynolds Lake Oconee. “When you present [a dish] well, you’re not only going to stimulate the appetite of that member, but you’re also communicating, ‘I took care of that dish for you. I took care of all the details for you.’ It sets the stage for the experience you’re about to have.” Thank you to Chef Bellout as well as Erica Medina CSC, Chef de Cuisine of Indian Hills Country Club, Mission Hills, KS, and Richard Lowack CEC,CCA,WCEC, Executive Chef of Manasquan River Golf Club, for sharing their plating strategies in the most recent issue of Club + Resort Chef. Congratulations to Kurt Lading in the Golf Maintenance Shop who successfully completed the Equipment Management Certificate Program Level 1 through the GCSAA. He had to pass eight exams including cutting units, drivetrain systems, electrical systems, engine technology, fundamentals of turfgrass operations, hydraulic systems, metalworking and fabrication, and spray systems. Our equipment is in great hands at IHCC!

In his first quarter as President of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America, Jeff White, CGCS has attended various trade shows, focusing on topics like sustainability, turfgrass, and irrigation technology. This graphic shows where he has participated in meetings, elections, and conferences, discussing issues such as reduced pesticide use and strategic planning. Key highlights include announcing joint internship programs, researching new technologies, and networking internationally. We can't wait to see where he'll go next!

Former IHCC Director of Tennis, Dale Eshelbrenner, will be inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame posthumously eight years after his passing at age 56 following a battle with cancer. He served as the tennis director at Indian Hills Country Club in the summers beginning in 1989, and that role lasted 27 years. There, the program grew from a handful of players to hundreds of youths and adults. You can read more about Dale and his tennis career at the link below! https://lnkd.in/gi-MkbMR
