Making a positive impact on Indiana University Bloomington campus since 1949.

About us

The Indiana University Student Foundation provides opportunities for philanthropic leadership to thousands of undergraduate students, primarily by sponsoring campus events that foster enthusiasm and support for IU. The student arm of the IU Foundation, IUSF raises money for the Students Helping Students campaign — an effort largely supported by the Little 500 bicycle race. IUSF students plan and execute the nation’s largest collegiate bike race every spring on the IU Bloomington campus. With the help of advisors and campus officials, IUSF provides the university community with a diverse array of activities that serve both students and faculty. These meaningful undergrad experiences help create loyal, involved IU alumni who support the university for the rest of their lives.

Updates

  • This Hispanic Heritage Month, the Riders Council Alumni Affairs committee put together a highlight on Mezcla — the cycling team representing IU's Latino Cultural Center, La Casa. Before the 2024 Little 500, the men's team had not appeared in the race since 2001. This year, Mezcla is reviving their women's team as well. We would like to thank the current and former Mezcla riders who helped us create this highlight. In addition, we would like to share that the Indiana University Foundation launched the Latino Philanthropy Circle in conjunction with Hispanic Heritage month. • Calling all former IUSF members & riders! The 2024-25 Riders Council and Steering Committee are excited to share the first edition of our alumni newsletter this year. This newsletter will help you stay up to date on IUSF activities, including highlights of teams, members, and alumni. September was a packed month, including an IUSF cookout, our first Weeknight Race Series, and the start of the Fall Rookie Skills Clinics and Wilcox Rides. We will see you next month with more updates on the season!

  • What a fantastic day at IUSF! We recently hosted a tailgate event for the IU men's soccer game, bringing together our amazing community of general members, SC, RC, and Riders. The event kicked off at the Wilcox House where we enjoyed PizzaX, Kona Ice, and great music from our DJ! After some quality time tailgating, we all headed over to Bill Armstrong Stadium to cheer on our Hoosiers! During halftime, the excitement continued with a tricycle race, featuring some of our very own members in action. It was incredible to see the energy, enthusiasm, and spirit from everyone involved, reminding us why the IUSF community is so special. Looking forward to more events like this that bring us closer together! #IUSF #HoosierPride #IU #Soccer #StudentLife

Coming from humble beginnings and watching his parents always give back, Dan Aron has always embodied the "giving back” spirit. This is reflected in his leadership and mentorship activities within the Indiana University community. Inspired by baseball card trading as a child, which led to his career in equity sales and trading marked by significant global strides, Dan has dedicated himself to mentoring IU students, emphasizing the importance of diversity and community engagement. Beyond his contributions to enhancing the Investment Management Workshop, Dan also established a diversity scholarship, cementing his role as a guiding light for future generations. Through his experiences as an undergraduate student and his subsequent involvement across IU, Dan has been a driving force, passionately urging students to seize every opportunity the university offers, maximizing their growth professionally, personally, and socially.

Great time learning with Trent McGee about the Indiana University Student Foundation within the Indiana University Foundation and gaining insights on how the Indiana University Alumni Association's Outreach & Engagement Department may enhance offerings to our recent graduates joining the alum ranks by cultivating connections of philanthropy while they are still IU students! #studentshelpingstudents https://lnkd.in/gzrBCkHy

  • Loved having the opportunity to talk with future Hoosiers and share with them all that IUSF has to offer IU students! Collaborations are at the heart of the IU Student Foundation and IU Foundation mission.

I was honored to lead the IU Pre-College Academy during their visit to the Indiana University Student Foundation. The students learned about IUSF's mission, ways to get involved, and heard inspiring stories from current Little 500 riders. Following the visit, students participated in the "Grow Your Goals" activity, reflecting on their time at IUPCA and looking forward to future opportunities. I'm incredibly thankful for the opportunity to lead this fantastic partnership. Special thanks to Aimie DeLeon for her unwavering support and guidance. ❤️ Indiana University Bloomington Indiana University Student Foundation
