Indiaspora and Dasra have come together to accelerate social impact for India’s most marginalized communities by fostering greater philanthropic giving and driving collaborative efforts. Through this partnership, they aim to create pathways for learning, knowledge exchange, and thought leadership that can catalyze meaningful change. The endeavor will be to foster peer communities of philanthropic families with an India focus for them to learn, share and potentially collaborate with each other on their philanthropic journeys. As the first step, both organizations are co-hosting the India Philanthropy Forum (IPF) Boston 2024 on October 25th, bringing together over 100 diaspora leaders, civil society practitioners, and thought leaders to spark dialogue and action around accelerating philanthropy for India. The speakers list includes Amit Bhandari, Mary Ellen Iskenderian, Ramesh Srinivasan, Amita Gupta, Milind Tambe, Megha Desai and many more.

Indiaspora was honored to be part of a select interactive session, organized by the Indian Consulate of NY, with visiting Indian Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal on October 1st in NYC. The honorable minister invited comments and questions from guests and responded to a wide range of topics during his address where he also exhorted the community to be unified to create impact at scale, in India or in the US. Indiaspora, represented by Shoba Viswanathan, presented the minister with a copy of the Indiaspora BCG Impact Report at the event. Shoba V. Today, we celebrate the life of Mahatma Gandhi, who led India to independence through non-violence. Gandhi Jayanti honors not only his birth, but Mahatma Gandhi's vision for a self-reliant nation and a free and empowered India- an India we all share and cherish. His legacy inspired movements for civil rights and freedom across the world. Here in the United States, his legacy has also inspired the Gandhi Camp held at Chinmaya Mission’s Krishnalaya retreat in Piercy, California. Learn more about the experience from 10th grader Shreyans Jain and what honoring Gandhi's legacy means for first generation Indian Americans in the US. A big thank you to member Dinny Devitre for hosting the evening, and to Aditi Sangal for moderating the evening’s conversation. Sanjeev Joshipura Neha Dewan

A delayed post from yours truly. Exactly two weeks ago, Indiaspora had the pleasure and privilege of organizing a dinner for our #Boston community featuring our member Reshma Kewalramani, MD FASN. We take pride in Reshma’s accomplishments as a Fortune 500 CEO and admire who she is as a person. Reshma and I had a fascinating and engrossing conversation about leadership, and we all had the opportunity to connect and reconnect with inspiring Indian diaspora leaders from the Boston area.
