InPipe Energy is on a mission to help the world practically and economically decarbonize by creating new clean energy resources from existing water pipeline infrastructure. Its flagship product, the HydroXS™ combines micro-hydropower technology with controls that are easily integrated into existing infrastructure to harvest excess water pressure and convert it to clean, low-cost electricity. InPipe Energy provides a turnkey process to support water managers eager to be more efficient, sustainable and resilient. InPipe Energy works with utilities to secure funding to cover the cost of these projects.     Y si… ¿producimos electricidad con las tuberías de nuestra casa? Esto que puede parecer muy disparatado es lo que hace InPipe HydroXS, una microturbina hidroeléctrica innovadora, podría cambiar la forma en que obtenemos energía. Desarrollada por la americana InPipe Energy, esta miniturbina se instala en tuberías municipales para aprovechar el flujo de agua y producir electricidad.  La tecnología presenta ventajas notables en términos de eficiencia energética y sostenibilidad, ofreciendo un hito en la generación de energía renovable. Algunos datos que le hacen muy atractivos es que convirtiendo el flujo de agua en tuberías en electricidad proporciona aproximadamente 130.000 kWh al año. La tecnología busca aprovechar las tuberías de agua potable como una fuente subexplotada pero significativa de energía verde. Las microturbinas son eficaces para aprovechar la energía hidráulica renovable, ofreciendo una opción limpia y rentable, ya que de normal esta energía no se está aprovechando y siempre nos vamos a abastecer de agua, o eso se supone 😅 La versatilidad de InPipe HydroXS, disponible en varios tamaños, permite su instalación en diferentes entornos, desde sistemas de distribución de agua potable hasta plantas industriales y desalinizadoras, esto también la hace muy atractiva Ahora ya hablando de informes reales, sugieren que, a nivel nacional, la microturbinización podría alcanzar hasta 1,41 GW de potencia, abasteciendo a más de 1 millón de viviendas. InPipe Energy ha implementado su tecnología en California y destaca la posibilidad de usar la miniturbina como un sistema de almacenamiento de energía. Se instala fácilmente como derivación en tuberías existentes, desviando el agua a través de una conexión de bypass, es decir, que se podría adaptar a las actuales instalaciones. Su aplicabilidad abarca estaciones de bombeo de agua, plantas de tratamiento de aguas residuales, instalaciones industriales y más. La tecnología no solo genera electricidad sino que también puede compensar emisiones de CO2, mejorando la rentabilidad de la red y prolongando la vida útil de las infraestructuras hidráulicas. Con su fácil instalación y amplias aplicaciones, esta microturbina para ser un gran avance en la búsqueda de alternativas eficientes y respetuosas con el medio ambiente. ¿Lo veis factible y, lo más importante, útil? 🤔
