Business Insider was just nominated for ANOTHER Emmy! This time for a "News & Documentary Emmy," in the category of "OUTSTANDING SOFT FEATURE STORY: LONG FORM." Our nominated feature is a beautiful piece of cinematic journalism titled "Moving Isa." It's about a mother and her transgender daughter who leave Texas in search of a better life. It was directed by Erica Berenstein and Barbara Corbellini Duarte, shot by Adam Miller, and produced by Selima Hussain. It's stunning work that will leave you hopeful about humanity. I'm so proud to be associated with these supremely talented people. You can watch the doc here: https://lnkd.in/gWQKF5Y9

🚨 It’s no secret that the news media landscape is evolving at breakneck speed. 🌊 Rapid digital transformation, shifting consumer behaviors, and fierce competition from tech giants are reshaping our industry. Add to this the complexities of eroding trust and evolving regulatory environments, and it's clear we're navigating uncharted waters. But at Axel Springer, we don't just weather change—we thrive on it. 🚀 Our 78-year legacy is built on a constant growth mindset that sees opportunity where others see obstacles. When some retreat from uncertainty, we lean in, innovate, and grow. 🪅 Today, I'm excited to announce three exceptional new hires who embody this spirit and will drive our continued growth and innovation in the U.S. news media landscape: 🧑🏻🚀 Rich Kennedy, SVP, Head of U.S. Partnerships for Axel Springer (and continuing as Chief Business Development Officer at Business Insider): Since 2013, Rich has spearheaded BI's impressive growth in third-party revenue, content partnerships, and audience expansion both domestically and internationally. With executive experience from Blip and Hearst, Rich will now serve as a strategic resource across our four U.S. brands, fostering inter-brand collaboration and leveraging Axel Springer's global scale to drive revenue opportunities portfolio-wide. 🦹🏼♀️ Wendi Daniels, VP of U.S. Group Sales: Wendi joins us to lead our group-wide effort and drive powerful, custom advertising campaigns across our premium brands. Her strong track record at Waze, Yahoo, and Viacom demonstrates her expertise in driving revenue growth, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and building new businesses from the ground up. 👩🏼🎤 Tina Wu, Director of Portfolio Management & Investments: Tina brings valuable experience from her recent role in corporate strategy at Vox Media, where she worked closely with key brands on new business and growth opportunities. Her background in strategic finance at Group Nine Media and as an analyst in HSBC's large corporate credit team adds depth to our investment strategies. 💫 Rich, Wendi, and Tina join Axel Springer's exceptional transatlantic team, which is dedicated to nurturing the future of news media while driving value for our diverse community of stakeholders. Welcome!

"Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV," the first streaming show built on Business Insider reporting, just got two Emmy nominations. And in a strange twist of fate, because I am an EP on the show, I am myself an Emmy nominee. WHAT!?! Fortunately, so is Kate Taylor, the brilliant reporter behind the story and star of the TV show. And so is Joel Stonington, our man in LA who put the deal together. Someone who really should be is Dana Schuster, who edited the story – and many others that are on their way to TV adaptation. And wow did we luck out partnering with Mary Robertson and the Maxine team. I am beyond grateful to have gotten the opportunity to work with these people. 1,000 thank yous to each of them! https://lnkd.in/enawTwwj

Congrats to Tasmin Lockwood and Riddhi Kanetkar, who just saw their reporting on European tech startup GoStudent recognized at the Headline Money Awards in London. Their work was highly commended in the B2B Story of the Year category. The judges wrote: “Well done to Business Insider’s Tasmin Lockwood and Riddhi Kanetkar for their piece GoStudent, the $3 billion edtech darling, scaled fast and partied hard . The result was a mess, which earned praise from the judges as a “very thoroughly researched and engagingly written piece shining a spotlight on this company's practices and ethics.” You can read the original story here: https://lnkd.in/e-e3S3xW

🏅Three-time NYC Marathon runner? ✅ 💼 Dual leadership roles at Business Insider and Axel Springer? ✅ and ✅. 🦸🏼♀️ Super mom of three children ages 3 and under? ✅, ✅, ✅! My colleague Maggie Milnamow seemingly does it all. Maggie is the Chief Revenue Officer at Business Insider, and her team is landing the best deals in the publication’s history. In her role as Axel Springer's Senior Vice President of U.S. Group Sales, Maggie is a key partner to our industry-leading sales teams at Business Insider, POLITICO, EMARKETER, and Morning Brew. Together, we’re creating the leading news platform for advertisers to reach more than 244 million people worldwide who turn to our brands to stay ahead. Excited for this latest addition of our “Meet the U.S. crew” series! Watch below👇
In May, we kicked off our “Meet the U.S. Crew” series with Gabriel Brotman, our COO in the U.S., who leads a group of experienced executives across key functions focused on deepening and expanding our operations in our second home market. Key to our U.S. strategy is driving incremental revenue across our global news brands, and we are pleased that Maggie Milnamow is leading this effort as our Senior Vice President of U.S. Group Sales, in addition to her role as Chief Revenue Officer for Business Insider. Maggie is committed to supporting sustainable business models for journalism in an increasingly complex media landscape. In the interview, she shares insights into her dual role and how it's contributing to our U.S. growth strategy. She also discusses the qualities she seeks in revenue leaders, and what activities help her unwind after work. My favorite part of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity for the past 3 years has been our video interviews with CMOs and industry names. This year we sat down with 39 marketing leaders and asked them to share their favorite mistakes, concrete examples of AI in action, and how they continue to learn and define the ever-changing CMO role. The roster includes CMOs from brands like State Farm, Unilever, the LEGO Group, Bose Corporation, Reckitt, Intuit Mailchimp, Chime, Mazda North American Operations, the National Football League (NFL) and many more. Our first cuts from the interviews are now available on our CMO Insider home page. Stay tuned for more as we continue to mine the insights from this cohort. Special thanks to our executive producer Will Wei, our fellow Leila Jordan Berger, our video crew Anna Muckerman and Mohamed Ahmed from Riviera Media, and our video editor Nisrine TABKA. Huge thanks to our on-site BI team Christie Clemens and Devin Nadi, our remote events staffer Amanda Corcoran, and our event program director Katrin Wright. https://lnkd.in/ew-ApCW4
