A company’s greatest asset is its people. But employee insights are often the most underutilized resource in any business. As we head to Transform 2025, I’m excited to showcase how AI-driven qualitative analytics can help businesses truly understand and care for their people, driving not just better products, but stronger, more engaged teams. Because at the end of the day, business is about people—those who build, support, and grow it.

Five years ago, I asked Robleh Jama for his best advice on succeeding at Shopify. His response became my secret weapon: "Find a few merchants and connect with them on a personal level. They'll give you unique insights into what you need to build. It’s a superpower." So I did exactly that. I found merchants struggling with the problem my team was trying to solve, spent 1:1 time with them, and together, we built a solution. At a company of that size, this isn’t always easy—but it’s the only way to truly solve complex problems. Yet, it’s alarming how many teams still try to bring products to market without proper market research, customer discovery, or UX research. If you want to be truly customer-obsessed, there’s no shortcut—you have to spend time with them.

A product team once launched a 'game-changing' feature based on customer feedback. They were confident it would boost adoption. But months later? No Traction What went wrong? Bias. The team had gathered customer feedback through surveys and interviews, but instead of objectively analyzing the responses, they focused on the feedback that aligned with their goals and expectations. And dismissed skeptical feedback As a result, they built a solution based on an incomplete and skewed interpretation of user needs. When the feature launched, real users didn’t react as expected—because their true concerns had never been properly understood in the first place. When analyzing qualitative data, it's easy to see what you want to see instead of what’s really there. Here are 3 ways smart teams stay objective when Analyzing Qualitative Data 🔍 Let the data speak first 👥 Get multiple perspectives 🚀 Use AI to surface trends objectively Like, comment, repost & follow Insight7 for more insights on turning customer feedback into business growth! #quantitativeresearch #phily2025 #customerinsights #insight7

Feb 2024: Stuck in pivot hell. Feb 2025: Speaking at an industry conference. A lot can change in one year, but what’s even more fascinating is how the same concept of discovery I’ll be speaking about next week at QRCA helped us find product-market fit. I’ll be discussing how we uncovered unknown unknowns from qualitative data —through a personal lens. Here’s what worked for us in finding product-market fit: 1. We recorded and analyzed conversations with prospects to identify pain points and opportunities (using Insight7, of course). 2. We leveraged those insights to refine our messaging and positioning on our website and across other channels. 3. We used sales call transcripts to optimize our content for better discoverability in search engines and LLMs. Conversational data is today’s oil. It's incredibly potent, yet only a few companies are scratching the surface of what’s possible.

Bill Gates once said... . "Your most unhappy customers are your greatest source of learning." While it seems natural to focus on satisfied customers, It's the dissatisfied ones who offer the most valuable insights. Their feedback highlights areas for improvement that might otherwise go unnoticed. Here’s why unhappy customers are goldmines for improvement 👇 🔍 They reveal blind spots – Complaints highlight issues you might never notice internally. 💡 They spark innovation – The best product ideas come from fixing real pain points. 🔥 They push you to improve – Solving their problems makes your business stronger. 🤝 They can become your biggest advocates – Addressing issues promptly not only resolves the problem but also shows you care about your customers' experiences. A customer who voices dissatisfaction is providing an opportunity to learn and grow. By actively listening and responding to their concerns, businesses can transform challenges into avenues for continuous improvement. So, don’t shy away from complaints. Lean into them, learn from them, and use them to drive continuous improvement. How has your organization leveraged customer feedback to drive positive change? Follow Insight7 for more insights on turning customer feedback into business growth! 🚀 #insight7 #qualitativeanalysis #customerinsights
