When I first started in market research, over 20 years ago, our team at Amgen wrestled with how to translate market research preference shares into usable market shares for forecasting. Alas, 20 years later, and I still find clients struggling to meet this challenge. Over the years, we’ve focused on this area as a core competency of our firm. In this post, we’ve included a few approaches we regularly use to address this issue (see below). We’re curious when and where this challenge comes up, which techniques others find useful, and if we should consider additional approaches to meet this challenge.
