About us

We are a group of young people and university researchers from different walks of life determined to make a change. Some of us have personal experience with child welfare systems, some of us have been left behind in school, some of us have been in the juvenile justice system and some of us have not, but we are all committed to changing things for the better.

Chief Operating Officer at National AfterSchool Association (NAA)

National AfterSchool Association (NAA) is sourcing contributors for the Spring Issue of AfterSchool Today magazine, featuring 500-700-word articles supporting recruiting and retaining young professionals in the OST workforce. Articles could be about the value of mentoring and how to find a mentor, the value of social capital and how leaders can help others build it, the case for employee well-being in attracting YPs to the field, influencing without formal authority or managing up, ways to incorporate agency and empowerment into the workplace, or another topic related to the issue’s theme.  If you are interested in contributing, email me at Heidi@naaweb.org, indicating the topic you'd like to write about. I can then respond to let you know about availability and more details. Bonus for YPs (age 35 and under) who want to contribute!
