On October 6, ICD Section IX Philippines Fellows, led by Section President Ida Viloria with Immediate Past President Sheryl Villareal-Borja and officers, ICD Japan Vice President Dr. Suzumura, ICD Japan Regent Dr. Ona, GC Asia and the UE Dental Team gathered at the Gawad Kalinga Bagac Community. Highlights of the day included the groundbreaking for two additional houses, a ceremonial painting of the GK houses, and various dental initiatives. The community benefited from oral health education, free dental kits, and fluoride treatments, fostering health and well-being for the residents. ICD Indonesia partnered with the Faculty of Universitas Hang Tuah Surabaya to host the 'Unity in ICD" International Seminar and Dental Exhibition in Surabaya, Indonesia, in early August. The event featured over a dozen international speakers, including Fellows, hands-on workshops, continuing education and professional development. Event objectives included fostering stronger medical and dental collaborative discussions and best practices; disseminating cutting-edge knowledge and information from the field of dentistry; providing opportunities and pathways to ICD Fellowship for qualifying doctors; and enhancing the expertise of attendees. #oralhealth #dentistry #dentalleaders #ProudtobeICD #oralhealthforall #FICD

In June, 27 volunteers travelled to Chogoria Dental Clinic in Kenya to provide care and services to the children of Mpangua Primary School. Services included screenings, treatments and preventive oral health education. Over two hundred patients received free services during the five-day outreach, and the ICD partnership with Henry Schein Dental provided over US$2,000 worth of donated supplies. #oralhealthforall #nonprofit #FICD #dentistry #dentaloutreach

Arkansas veterans may be eligible for free dental care during the 3rd Annual #OperationStandDown. on Nov. 1. Please share with your network. This is a joint effort hosted by the International College of Dentists and the Arkansas Department of Veterans Affairs with volunteer support from many Arkansas dental professionals, including some of our staff and board members, and a grant from our #deltaDentalARFoundation for dental supplies. Services will be offered at 7 statewide locations. In July, ICD Fellow Dr Anil Kohli from SGT UNIVERSITY in India organized an oral health check, treatment, and specialized hearing screening at the Blind Relief Association, Lodhi Road, Delhi. This event was conducted in collaboration with ICD Section VI India, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Mankind Pharmaceuticals. ICD Section VIII Australia, New Zealand, South Pacific held their 2024 Induction Ceremony in Christchurch, New Zealand last month. We are proud to announce $35,000 US in scholarships have been awarded to 14 outstanding dental students (pictured) across the USA this year through the ICD-WUDAA Scholarship Program. These scholarships will directly support each students’ dental education, leaving a small but positive impact.
