In 2010, the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund (IFHF) inaugurated the $60 million National Intrepid Center of Excellence (NICoE) to address the critical needs of service members suffering from traumatic brain injury (TBI) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). NICoE was established to provide comprehensive care, innovative research, and advanced treatments for these invisible wounds of war. Building on the success of NICoE, IFHF initiated the construction of a series of ten Intrepid Spirit Centers across various military bases in the United States starting in 2011. These centers are dedicated to offering the most advanced and effective treatments for wounded service members, enabling over 90% of them to remain on active duty and lead fulfilling lives. The Intrepid Spirit Centers utilize cutting-edge technology and therapies to treat TBI, PTSD, and other related conditions.
