Inverness Chamber of Commerce reposted this
Tremendous day with Sumitomo Electric and many members of Inverness Chamber of Commerce on Monday at the Drumossie Hotel. We heard about all the opportunities for supply chain companies in the Highlands and beyond. This cable factory is major step forwards for the Highlands and the part that we'll play in the UK's journey towards net zero. It was also inspiring to hear of Sumitomo Electric's commitment to long term partnership with their suppliers
In Scotland this week, Sumitomo Electric U.K. Power Cables Ltd. welcomed more than a hundred guests to its first workshop for local suppliers. The company will be manufacturing extra-high-voltage submarine power cables for the UK's growing renewable energy sector. In his remarks to the audience, Chairman Yasuyuki Shibata affirmed Sumitomo Electric's commitment to engaging with the community and contributing to the local economy.
