Early applications of AI in gaming primarily focused on conversations with intelligent NPCs. Now, as we explore the next generation of AI applications, Inworld AI enables AI agents to actively participate in gameplay, taking lifelike actions for a more engaging gameplay. In this Mass Character Generator demo, the player is able to create NPCs at scale with a simple voice command, all in real-time taking UGC to the next level. This tech offers the ability to link to your own owned or licensed asset libraries. The vast worlds in RPGs can be time-intensive to populate, but with Inworld AI, developers can easily generate a cast of believable, dynamic characters. At Inworld Beyond last week, we brought executives in gaming together to share a glimpse of what the future of AI in gaming could look like, with insightful discussions with industry leaders from NVIDIA Xbox, and Playroom. Early applications of AI in gaming were largely centered around creating intelligent NPCs capable of holding conversations. But as we look ahead, AI agents must evolve beyond conversations to autonomously perceive and take contextually relevant actions in order to make gameplay truly immersive - and evolving toward AI controlling more of game state than character behavior. During Beyond, we showcased demos of AI agents taking actions in real-time, adapting dynamically to both the game environment and player input. Behind each of these demos are Inworld Primitives, our state-of-the-art AI components that have been purpose-built for gaming.  Primitives unlock new possibilities for more complex and lifelike interactions, pushing the boundaries of existing gameplay.  We’re also exploring how AI can be used as a tool to accelerate game development and design. As the time and costs of developing games continue to rise, developers can leverage AI to get games to market more quickly. We’ve developed a suite of game design tools that assist with prototyping and drafting narrative and content. We believe that the true potential of AI in gaming will be unlocked by game developers who harness these models to develop new gameplay mechanics that were previously unattainable.
