Hy-Vee, Inc. has partnered with Alliant Energy in a now operational solar energy site in Chariton, Iowa. In addition to powering 360 homes each year, Iowa State University researchers will manage an on-site apiary to study how plants help sustain bee colonies. “These initiatives encapsulate what can happen when a forward-looking company like Hy-Vee partners with their local energy company to advance sustainably,” said IBC member and Alliant President Mayuri Farlinger. “Hy-Vee’s decision to be a leader in this space is something we’re extremely proud of as we deliver on our purpose to serve customers and build stronger communities.” https://lnkd.in/gfutiCss

The Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield Foundation stepped in to support recovery at schools in Rock Valley, Spencer, Greenfield and Minden after extreme flooding and violent tornadoes. The foundation donated nearly $500,000 to assist covering the financial gap after insurance and federal and state funding. https://lnkd.in/gUPF_E45
