Congratulations to the HHS Employee of the Month for October 2024, Bill Marquess! Bill was nominated for exemplifying the HHS Guiding Principle of Data Driven. Bill is the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance (LIHEAP) Program Manager within the Division of Community Access & Eligibility. Over the last year, Bill has led the effort LIHEAP, Energy Crisis Intervention Program (ECIP), and Weatherization intake tool. The new system, now managed at the state level, will ensure that we are able to serve Iowans more efficiently and provide more succinct data to our partner providers throughout the state. The modernized system ensures state and local providers have data at their fingertips and assist in gathering and analyzing data in a more efficient and effective manner. Bill goes beyond simply collecting and reporting data to proactively using it to make informed recommendations and tell a compelling story. He is customer service driven and focuses on the experience of Iowans applying for services as well as the contractors that provide services in communities throughout the state. Above all, Bill connects the data we back to the people of Iowa who benefit from these services.
