February is Black History Month! This month we'd like to highlight a few pioneers whose brilliance contributed to our rich tapestry of science history. To jumpstart, we'd like to start with Dr. Marie Maynard Daly. Late last week on January 16th, the Treasury Department and Internal Revenue Service issued Notice 2025-08. This Notice provides updated guidance on the Inflation Reduction Act's #DomesticContent bonus for Clean Electricity Production and Investment Tax Credits. Elective Safe Harbor for the domestic content bonus credit has been updated and modified. The changes are significant, affecting manufacturers of modules, inverters, and racking systems, and reshaping project cost calculations. Naturally, this is resulting in some questions! We here at IronRidge know that a part of what works to #MakeSolarStronger is to answer as many questions as we can, while staying up-to-date on the information as it evolves. Breaking: At the very cusp of last weekend, the U.S. Treasury and IRS issued updated guidance on the Inflation Reduction Act's #DomesticContent bonus for Clean Electricity Production and Investment Tax Credits. Why is this important, and what does it mean? This is important because this further builds upon the May 2024 Safe Harbor table guidance, and it means allowing developers to rely on default cost percentages from the Department of Energy instead of direct supplier data.
