  • As our results from Childhood Cancer Awareness Month continue to trickle in, we are truly amazed by the generosity of our community. Through our collective effort to #GoGoldForKidsWithCancer, an incredible $57K was raised to support rare cancer heroes across our region! In September, you all: - Hung and sold purple bows for mailboxes. - Organized online and peer-to-peer fundraisers  - Shared about ISF on social media  - Supported local businesses through giveback events  - Attended our celebration at Goldie's Live Music Bar and Restaurant, benefiting Asheville’s Children’s Hospital, Mission Health, and Hurricane Helene relief efforts  - Donated to our cause We are deeply grateful for every person who contributed in September. Though Childhood Cancer Awareness Month has ended, our commitment to advocating for rare cancer heroes continues—because for them, the fight is every day. • At just three years old, Luke Miller was diagnosed with Lymphoblastic Lymphoma, a rare and aggressive cancer affecting the blood cells and lymph nodes. After two years of intensive treatment, Luke proudly rang the bell, marking the incredible moment when he was declared cancer-free. Yet, even after this milestone, the journey is far from over. Life after cancer, known as survivorship, presents its own challenges. Regular doctor visits, monitoring appointments and ongoing care are essential as Luke works to regain a sense of normalcy. Survivorship is a critical phase in a child’s cancer journey. It’s about ensuring their long-term health and well-being just as much as during active treatment. The Isabella Santos Foundation recognizes this need and dedicates a portion of all funds to support survivorship programs at hospitals across the Carolinas. Your donation to ISF helps children like Luke not only beat cancer but thrive in life beyond it. Visit isftorch.org to support survivorship programs and learn more. https://lnkd.in/eiNqt89N

  • We recently had the privilege of joining Atrium Health Levine Children's and several incredible teens battling rare cancers for a day of adventure at Catawba Riverkeeper! It was inspiring to connect with these young warriors and see firsthand how our Live My Dreams program lifts their spirits. For children undergoing inpatient treatment, many typical childhood experiences are out of reach—something Isabella knew all too well, which is what inspired the creation of this program. Thanks to your generous support, Live My Dreams gives pediatric cancer patients the chance to forget about cancer, even for just one day, and simply enjoy being a kid again. We are so grateful for your continued support in making these moments possible.
