We are excited to share new images of the recently completed Richard Gilder Center addition, set within the American Museum of Natural History on Central Park. The museum’s one-of-a-kind carved stone facade was completed by Island’s team through close collaboration with Studio Gang, AECOM Tishman, and Buro Happold. Wednesday marked the grand opening of 400 Summer Street, a LEED Platinum Certified building and the new headquarters for Foundation Medicine in Boston's Seaport. With 630,000 square feet of lab and office space, and 30,000 square feet of retail, 400 Summer Street marks a significant milestone for the neighborhood. “We are very proud to introduce this beautiful building at the gateway to Seaport, a global epicenter for innovation and technology. As we welcome Foundation Medicine to the Seaport, this model of sustainable development stands as a testament to this neighborhood's transformation. To facilitate FM Global's research, science, and technology expansion in Norwood, MA, our team first successfully and safely demolished an existing 140,000 square-foot, two-story, two-building structure—removing 27,500 total tons from the site. In its place, an all-new #ShawmutBuilt four-story, 320,000 square-foot complex will offer a combination of research laboratories and corporate offices, along with a parking garage and outdoor spaces, to elevate the campus to new heights of innovation.  Read more about the project here: https://bit.ly/3UsuKw7
