Our mission is to bring curbside EV charging to cities across the U.S. and advance the adoption of electric vehicles.
---
By partnering with property owners to unlock access to untapped electricity, we give them the option to earn a passive income while making it easier for everyone to charge EVs.
---
Increased access to affordable public charging not only encourages the adoption of EVs, but leads to cleaner air and healthier communities.

*It's Electric is currently not authorized to operate or use public streets in New York City, and deployment of our hardware is dependent on approval from governing agencies.
🇨🇭“We admire the public infrastructure and planning that went into designing the urban charging network in Europe. However, the problem of users who often cannot find a charging point near where they live has not yet been solved.”
Thank you NZZ and Fabian Hoberg for placing itselectric into the hands of your readers
Yes!! This is an answer to my prayers. One of the reasons AC charging in Europe works better is because drivers use their own cord.
At State and National Parks, they have a long history of providing electricity as an amenity at campsites. EV charging is a lot like RV charging, and L2 chargers are just glorified electrical outlets. Hoping funding opportunities become more flexible to bring down costs, increase innovation and in this case simplify the service to increase reliability.
📢 Hey Yonkers! We like your curbs.
(your buildings, too)
it's electric has partnered with the City of Yonkers to expand access to curbside EV charging for all residents – regardless of their income level – prioritizing an equitable rollout of chargers to ensure all New Yorkers are included in NY’s clean energy future.
This partnership is a result of Yonkers Climate Action Plan, is supported by NYSERDA, and is funded through generous grant support from Uptake Alliance, a climate venture development program administered by ADL Ventures and with additional core funding by Leading Cities#AcceliCITY
This public-private partnership will help the city demonstrate a successful, scalable model of deploying EV charging stations in the public right-of-way for all #Yonkersonians who want to drive electric, but lack home charging capabilities (and all at no cost to the city!)

When I bought an electric vehicle, it was only my second car ever. If there had been enough charging stations when I got my first car at 33, I would’ve made the switch earlier. But back then, even in a city like Atlanta, the infrastructure wasn’t there.
Now, instead of weekly gas station runs, I charge at home or while shopping –trading tips with other EV owners and venting about the need for faster chargers for the 2.5 million owners who live across the U.S.
That’s why when I came across Tiya Gordon’s work, I was immediately pumped about the future of EV access.
Gordon, the co-founder and COO of New York City-based itselectric, didn’t have a direct path to climate tech — her background is in design and public-facing technology.
But as she began trying to solve a personal transportation challenge, she began asking herself questions about the state of charging availability at large. Today, itselectric is working to change that by offering scalable and affordable charging options — right in the heart of the communities that need it most.

In the whirlwind of New York Climate Week (and MOVE Austin, and Forth Mobility) I wasn't able to give this news from California the shout-out it deserves: the Equitable EV Charging Act was signed into law last week!
Thanks to this new law, municipalities throughout the Golden State will start planning for #curbsideEVcharging to serve drivers who park on the street. Once again, California is leading the way in putting policy frameworks in place to accelerate the transition to a clean energy economy.
Many thanks to Assemblymember Kevin McCarty for his leadership on this important issue, and to Cory Bullis at FLO EV Charging for inviting itselectric to collaborate on this bill.
