🎂 25 years ITW in Hodenhagen As already shared in our last post, September was a month to celebrate for our Teams. Today we are sharing some insights from our summer party in our German facility in Hodenhagen, where the whole team and their families celebrated the 25th anniversary of ITW in Hodenhagen. It was a fun party with a lot of activities for our employee’s kids, good food and the possibility to show our families the place where we work. #ProudToBeITW

🎊 Let's celebrate! September was a month of many great achievements to be celebrated: 🌍 Hodenhagen: 25 years anniversary of our German facility 🌎 Monterrey: One year without safety incidents 🌎 Elmhurst: 2024 United Way Campaign During the next days, we will share some insights of our teams celebrating and being in action, today starting with the United Way Campaign: Thanks to the generosity of our workforce, this year we raised $ 1,409.00 through our Annual United Way Campaign (and as a Corporate Partner, ITW will match 100%). The Elmhurst Leadership Team organized and hosted events such as Spirit Week, Bake & Lunch Sales, Putt Putt Golf, Bean Bag Toss, Lottery Board & Prize Raffles to raise monies and awareness to the United Way Mission. One of the most popular activities hosted this year was “Soak the Supervisor”. Employees purchased water balloons to throw at the Supervisor of their choice (all in good fun)! The United Way’s Mission is seeking to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities around the world to advance the common good. We thank our Elmhurst Team for making a difference in their local community! United Way #ProudToBeITW #LiveUnited

We are happy to introduce to you our Summer Intern, Johnny Henderson. Johnny will support our Innovation Team, located at our Elmhurst facility. 1. Tell me about your educational background & what inspired you to pursue your career / education path? I have always been a STEM Person, but it hasn’t always been clear to me to do Engineering. I attended Princeton University for 1 year and felt confused as to the path I should take going forward, and did not consider engineering, so I decided to take a gap year to see what I really wanted to do. I discovered that Loyola University had a new Engineering Program and enrolled in Loyola instead of going back to Princeton. I fell in love with engineering due to Loyola’s Program. There, I was able to make great connections with my professors and fellow students.   2. What attracted you to this internship?   The Innovation Internship described to me seemed really up my alley. Based on the tasks at hand, I could use the skills I learned in college and apply them to real work situations. In college, I did a lot of prototyping projects and I like that this internship is ground level engineering. I will be able to come up with solutions for future problems.   3. Where do you see yourself 5 years into your career?   I hope to either be starting / finishing a Masters in Engineering. I hope to be focusing on projects that I gravitate towards and that I am excited to be a part of.   4. What would you say your greatest non-work accomplishment is?   I would say that pushing myself to try new things and get out of my comfort zone has been one of my major personal accomplishments. During my gap year, I lived in South America with a family that did not speak English, while living with them I was able to learn a new culture and how to navigate the unknown and get comfortable with uncomfortable.   5. What do you like to do in your free time?   I like to be outdoors as much as possible – I like spending time on the lake or skiing whenever I get the chance. I also like to make bad music and can play the guitar. Please join us in welcoming Johnny to our team!

In the Next Phase of our Enterprise Strategy, which began in 2024, organic growth is our highest priority. By 2030, we will build organic growth into a core ITW strength on par with our best-in-class financial performance and operational proficiency. To get there, the Customer-Back Innovation process is our most impactful driver and will guide how we deliver value to our customers. By innovating from the customer back, not the R&D center out, we’re able to solve our customers’ toughest technical challenges and improve business performance. Throughout our Next Phase, we will build our Customer-Back Innovation capability with the same focus that we used to build upon our 80/20 Front-to-Back capability over the past decade. 🔦 Internship Spotlight This week, we are happy to introduce to you Micah Bean, our new and first Co-Op student at ITW Global Safety. A Co-Op-Program is another great opportunity to start your career at ITW. Micah is a student from Kettering University and now switching every three month between studies and gaining practical experience with our Sales & Engineering Team at our Elmhurst, IL facility. 1. Tell me about your educational background & what inspired you to pursue your career / education path? I am currently a junior at Kettering University studying Mechanical Engineering. Prior to Kettering, I attended Alcott College Prep, where I attended a pre-engineering program. I was inspired to pursue a career in engineering because I wanted to work in an industry where I would have the ability to solve complex problems within our world, and have the ability to collaborate with a wide variety people and industries as well to reach common goals.      2. What attracted you to this internship? I was attracted to this internship at ITW because I was convinced that being here would be a prime opportunity to develop new skills that I am not currently as experienced with utilizing due to the smaller team setting and the focus within the automotive industry. I figured that I would hold more responsibility in completing projects, and therefore be exposed to different practices such as designing with computer-aided design (CAD) software, going though the full process of product development, using and honing project management skills, and understanding supply chain management.   3. Where do you see yourself 5 years into your career?   After 5 years into my career, I would like to see myself as advanced in all of the previous practices/skills listed above, and well as a multitude of other soft skills that would aid me in collaboration efforts with a wide variety of people. I would like to be adaptable to potentially changing positions and responsibilities. I want to be able to have the level of knowledge and experience to be able to guide others, and possibly seek a position of leadership at that point in my career.     4. What would you say your greatest non-work accomplishment is?   One of the first things that comes to mind with this question is orchestrating a blood drive in collaboration with the American Red Cross this past year. It took several weeks of planning, and had a very decent turnout, which makes me glad.   5. What do you like to do in your free time? In my free time, I enjoy playing video games, reading, playing basketball, running, and watching sports. Welcome to the team, Micah! #ProudToBeITW
