Eight years ago, I quit my tenure-track job as a college professor to explore the depths of Ayurveda and nutrition. As a PhD with published works (including a "digestible" academic book), I was happy but unsatisfied. I knew there was more for me outside the lecture halls. Now, years into this new path, these are some of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned: Radical Empathy is your competitive edge. Compassion and care disrupt the status quo—those who lead with the heart build enduring success. In a world that expects competition, being genuinely kind surprises—and people remember it! Accept and respect your uniqueness. What you consider a weakness may be your greatest strength! It’s what sets you apart. Service before virality. No amount of marketing, algorithm, & reach can fix a product that doesn’t meet real needs. This sounds like a cliche, but every setback can be an opportunity to learn and refine. Design your own path and walk at your own speed. Don’t inherit someone else’s dreams, and don't keep comparing yourself to others—build a life that aligns with your true desires and principles. When you centre your work around what you love and excel at, success comes more smoothly and easily. Watch what you’re avoiding. Then, face it. It's often something you need to do! For anyone thinking of a career shift (especially after age 35+) or just stepping into wellness, stay kind, stay focused, and keep growing. #careeradvice #womeninbusiness #smallbusiness #academia #empathy #wellness #personalgrowth #careerchange #founderlife #nutritionists #womenprofessionals

Have you tried roastagram.lol? This is how my @ivychanwellness got roasted! (made me appear younger, too!) "32-year-old female Ayurvedic nutritionist and PhD social psychologist on a mission to help others break free from toxic patterns and redefine their beliefs. Image copy: "Alright, Ivy, I see you sitting there, draped in spiritual wisdom with your 'Ayurvedic nutritionist' title like it’s the same as being a certified life coach. Those sun-kissed locks are giving off some serious 'I meditated too hard and now my hair thinks it's a plant' vibes. And let's talk about your self-care aesthetic—was the vibe 'feed your mind while looking like a yoga master who just discovered color theory?' Seriously, there’s enough green leafy content here to start a salad bar, but it all feels a bit like a wellness cliché wrapped in a plush throw blanket. But hey, keep preaching that accountability jargon while we all pretend we're not scrolling through takeout menus in our pajamas!" #funny #content #marketing #socialmedia #contentcreator #smallbusiness

I've experienced firsthand the debilitating effects of #anxiety. Did you know that 30% of women will face significant anxiety in their lifetime? While pharmaceuticals are often the go-to solution, they come with potential side effects and don't address the root causes. That's why, as a science-loving wellness educator & an Ayurvedic nutritionist, I prefer a more holistic, and always science-backed approach: 🍃 Herbs for prevention, relief, and even to address root causes. But it's not just about herbs. It's about creating a new paradigm for women's health that integrates traditional wisdom with modern science. That's why I've created The Call - a comprehensive online experience designed to empower women with: ✅ Deep knowledge of "natural" healing ✅ Skills to address common health concerns ✅ A supportive community of like-minded women Whether you're a healthcare professional or simply want to take control of your well-being, you will benefit from The Call. Because this programme offers a bio-psycho-social approach and a unique blend of scientific evidence and holistic practices. I don't know a programme as comprehensive as this. Check it out for yourself! https://lnkd.in/g_e9PwbB #healthandwellness #WomensHealth #emotionalhealth #integrativehealth #naturalmedicine #health #chronicpain #collab

People often romanticise being a solopreneur, but the reality can be quite different. As a one-person operation, I handle the workload of 4-6 full-time employees. While keeping most of the profits is alluring, it's easy to feel overwhelmed and paralysed by the sheer volume of tasks. Too often, we solopreneurs neglect to tap into our networks and communities for support. Asking for help doesn't have to mean seeking advice or assistance. It can be as simple as exploring collaborations or cross-promoting to each other's audiences – not cold outreach, but genuine connections with people you've interacted with online or in person. If you're in the wellness sphere, here are three things you can do today: 1. Join my community of healers-at-heart by following the link below to become a founding member. 2. DM me to explore collaboration opportunities. Even if you don't have a specific idea, reach out – I ALWAYS respond. 3. Remember, you're not alone. If you're feeling embarrassed, afraid, worried, or lonely, know that many of us are right there with you! What do you have to lose when there's so much to gain? We need each other's support. We often get caught up in the grind, chasing success at the cost of our well-being. But what if our true purpose lies in healing - healing ourselves to heal the collective? Our bodies don't lie. Physical symptoms and inner turmoil are signals that something needs to be addressed and integrated within us. Instead of dismissing them as inconveniences, we can treat them as catalysts for growth. Suffering doesn't discriminate against titles or income brackets. It's a universal call to slow down, and reconnect with ourselves and our support systems. True healing cannot happen in isolation. As we ascend corporate ladders, let's not forget our humanity. Our personal work has a ripple effect, influencing our teams, our businesses, and the world around us. By prioritizing inner work and healing, we can foster more compassionate, conscious leaders and organizations. It's time we reframe our definitions of strength and success. True grit lies in addressing our shadows, not outrunning them. Let's normalize vulnerability and community as pillars of sustainable growth and impact. #healthandwellness #holistichealth #selfcare #growth #community #mindful #mindfulness #peace

What if you're not lazy, but intuitive? Hear me out. In a society that glorifies productivity, we often misinterpret our hesitation or reluctance as mere procrastination or laziness. But what if there's more to it? What if our delay is a subtle form of intuition or wisdom nudging us in a different direction? Let's take a moment to reassess our recent intentions and aspirations. Is there a looming task you've been continuously avoiding? Consider these perspectives: Break down the daunting task into more manageable chunks. OR Acknowledge that your hesitation might be signalling something deeper—an intuition that your timing isn't optimal or that you lack crucial information. Honouring our inner rhythms and acknowledging our reluctance can yield surprising insights and clarity. Instead of brushing off procrastination as a hurdle to overcome, consider whether there's a divine reason behind it. The beauty lies in the flexibility of our goals and intentions. To end this work week, take a step back and contemplate whether you can make incremental progress toward your major goal or if a complete pivot is necessary. Embrace the wisdom embedded in procrastination and trust your intuition to guide you towards the most aligned path. #intuition #productivity #goalsetting #personaldevelopment #gutfeeling #intentional
