Senior Marketing Major with a Logistics Concentration at Georgia College & State University
I am profoundly grateful for the opportunity to have been a Marketing Intern at Great Dane for 10 weeks. During this period, I had the privilege of contributing to the development and delivery of training materials, analyzing competitor marketing and sales strategies, and preparing presentations for various meetings and training sessions. This experience allowed me to immerse myself in a supportive corporate environment where team members actively fostered each other's growth. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the entire Great Dane team, particularly Jennifer Frady, Noah Thomas, Hailey Fuller, and my fellow interns, Mattie Grace Hutcheson, Kylee Saxon, and Kelsie Sprague, for their invaluable support and guidance.

A week ago I concluded my 10 week internship as a Bank of America Enterprise Credit Summer Analyst on the Dealer Financial Services team. Through this opportunity I was able to fully immerse myself in the corporate world, meet and work with many amazing peers and mentors, and gain real experience in the field of credit. I look forward to returning to the Bank as a full time analyst, following my graduation, in Summer 2025.

As our students get closer to graduation, they complete internships to prepare them for their careers. Kimberly Rihner just finished her summer internship with Thiele Kaolin Company, alongside the guidance of one of our long-standing board members, Mark Bailey. Great work, Kimberly, and Go Bobcats!
Today, I finished my summer internship with Thiele Kaolin Company. Words cannot truly express how thankful I am to have had this opportunity. I have learned so much these past three months working for Thiele. This internship has allowed me to view the world of IT/IS in a new perspective and has given me the opportunity to have a hands-on experience in information systems. Going into my junior year, I have more knowledge and gained confidence that I have what it takes to succeed in a career in IT/IS. I want to take a moment to give special thanks to Mark Bailey for this amazing opportunity and for his guidance throughout the summer. He was a great mentor, and I can’t thank him enough for all that he has done for me. It’s been a pleasure being a part of Thiele’s IS team. I had so much fun working with everyone, and I appreciate all of their help and support. They made this an unforgettable experience.

In fiscal year 2024, which ended on June 30, 2024, we achieved our highest fundraising total ever, raising over $8.8 million—a 212% increase from last year. This milestone is a testament to the power of community, with significant contributions from alumni, faculty, staff, students, and local supporters. "Each year I get older, the students get younger" - Dr. Clyde Pickett Yesterday's 8th Annual Making Excellence Inclusive Day (MEID) highlighted Empowering Every Voice and from opening with Dr. Michael T. Snowden through the Keynote delivered by Dr. Clyde Wilson Pickett, this year was the most Powerful MEID I have attended to date! Greatly appreciate Dr. Wilson Pickett sharing insights on Transformative Inclusion then opening the floor for Q&A, during which he shared how we can all help "unseen" asynchronous, online Graduate Candidates feel seen, included, and aid in engaging students from the third space as fully belonging to campus communities. Thoroughly encouraged to report many of the recommendations are already well established, currently being piloted, &/or in the planning process within the J. Whitney Bunting College of Business & Technology. A few of these include: Orientation Opportunities, both in person and virtual, to engage students from the start of their programs, Open Camera / Open Mic / Office Hours exclusively specific to each asynchronous online course throughout the program, Alumni Networking Lounges in target geographic areas to reconnect with graduates, Professional training & support for faculty / staff to better understand and be equipped to assist asynchronous students with their unique challenges.
