Happy Women's Equality Day! Today at Simplot we celebrate the adoption of the 19th Amendment, which granted women the right to vote, a pivotal moment in the journey to true gender equality. Today, and every day, we honor the incredible women who drive our success and inspire us every day. From the fields to the labs, women at Simplot have always broken barriers, led with innovation, and shaped the future of agriculture. We celebrate their achievements and will continue to advocate for equality and opportunity for all.

Did you know our founder J.R. Simplot once had his office in a potato cellar in Declo, Idaho? Today Simplot employs roughly 15,000 employees around the globe to help feed the world. Offices look a little different at our headquarters in Downtown Boise, Idaho where over 1,200 employees work. Despite our growth, we remain farmer-focused and family-run.

Recently, members of Simplot’s Women’s Impact Network (WIN) came together to volunteer at the Idaho Food Bank. A total of 22 WIN members helped fill, weigh, and tie approximately 3,800 pounds of donated fingerling potatoes for distribution. Giving back to our community is one of the many ways we demonstrate our Passion for People, one of Simplot’s Core Values. Thank you for your fantastic work, WIN!

It's one of our favorite days of the year here at Simplot: National Potato Day! Not only did potatoes play a critical role in the founding and success of the J.R. Simplot Company, but they’ve also changed how we prepare and eat food. From french fries and potato chips, to hash browns and Sidewinders they’re a staple at kitchen tables, restaurants and our hearts.

Happy National Honey Bee Day! Today we celebrate the Honey Bee, a pollinator that is good for the planet and necessary for what we love to eat, such as coffee, chocolate and fresh fruit. Simplot recognizes the importance of bees and other pollinators. They may be small, but they provide big benefits to many crops, which helps us feed our growing world. So hip. hip hooray for the Honey Bee and ensuring thriving pollinator populations of all kinds!

Did you know that Simplot produces Silica Sand? Our silica sand mine in Overton, Nevada has operated since 1927 with proven reserves to continue to supply our customers well into the future. Simplot Silica Sand is used to produce a variety of things like architectural glass, Corona® glass bottles, even automotive glass in Tesla® car windows. Fun fact, all of the exterior windows in the Simplot Boise Headquarters are made from silica sand mined in Overton!

At the recent National Food Waste Summit in Melbourne, Australia, Simplot was the proud recipient of the award for “Most Outstanding Contribution to Food Rescue in Australia.” The recognition acknowledged Simplot’s decades-long partnership with Foodbank and our innovative approach to enabling food rescue across our whole value chain. Our efforts around curbing food waste are just one of the many ways Simplot is focused on sustainably bringing Earth’s resources to life.

Earlier this year, Simplot India marked a significant milestone with its inaugural celebration of the 80th National Fire Service Week. The event was themed "Ensure Fire Safety, Contribute towards Nation Building." Celebrations included everything from a fire fighting training practical demo to a fire safety slogan competition. The week-long celebrations culminated in a closing ceremony where participants were awarded for their contributions towards enhancing fire safety awareness and preparedness. Simplot looks forward to continuing its commitment to fire safety and contributing positively to nation-building efforts in the future.
