Each and every day, we find solutions to complex challenges. Meet seven people who are making an impact while growing their careers. 🌿 Aurelia Karina Hillary, Sustainability Program Manager 🌿 In Indonesia, Aurelia works with suppliers for more sustainable palm oil production. Every day is different: “One day, you could be doing typical supplier engagement, and the next thing you know, you're involved in strategy discussions or sitting in a coalition meeting.” 🌿Abigail Ayitey, Protect the Planet Coordinator 🌿 Abigail is an agriculturalist who is passionate about creating solutions with cocoa farmers and other community members in Ghana. She firmly believes that sustainable practices work best when “we collaborate with the people who live within the communities where reforestation efforts take place.” 🌿 Paige S., Sustainability Manager 🌿 Paige combines her passions of sustainability and environmentalism in her work for BeefUp Sustainability, a program that cuts beef emissions. “It's been an incredible way to kick off my career,” she says. As the lead for the program, she nurtures customer and industry relationships to develop climate change solutions for us and our protein customers. 🌿 Alexandra Experton (She/Her) Alexandra Experton, Sustainability Leader, Animal Nutrition 🌿 During the last 15 years, Alex’s career has taken her to palm oil plantations across Central Africa and Southeast Asia, and more recently to farms in Europe. She works across multicultural and functional teams to create a more sustainable agricultural system. “I'm energized when I can bring people from different backgrounds together,” Alex says. 🌿 Weilin Huang, Sustainability & GIS Specialist 🌿 With her PhD in Environmental Science, Weilin explores (and prevents!) human impacts on ecosystems. “Our team thrives on turning complex data into actionable insights that drive positive change,” she says. Weilin looks for innovative approaches — like bridging data gaps — to drive our sustainability goals forward. 🌿 Bjorn Reijnen, APAC Sustainability Program Manager 🌿 Drawing on his experience in farming, environmental protection and manufacturing, Bjorn develops and refines our SustainConnect® program. The program helps Australian grain farmers adopt lower-carbon practices. “I’m part of an awesome team at the cutting edge of many aspects of sustainability — exploring new environmental market opportunities with farmers, industry partners and customers,” he says. 🌿 Nick Wolfenden, Sustainable Animal Welfare Director 🌿 A lifelong lover of animals, Nick's role is the perfect fit. He works with farmers, ranchers, customers, NGOs, scientists, academics and veterinarians to help cultivate responsible supply chains while delivering results for Cargill and their customers. “It's an honor to lead Cargill's global efforts in animal welfare — working with teams who are passionate about the animals entrusted to us,” he says.

70% of the world’s freshwater is used to grow the food we eat. That means using water wisely in agriculture isn’t just a responsibility — it’s a necessity. For World Water Week, here are five more facts about water use in agriculture (plus, how we protect this precious resource). 💧 1. Climate change affects water availability. 💧 Climate change leads to more droughts and floods, affecting water availability. 💧 2. Healthy soils act like a giant sponge. 💧 Healthier soils store more water — like a sponge — helping to build drought resilience and requiring less irrigation. 💧 3. Water is essential to biodiversity. 💧 There’s a close link between biodiversity and water. We’re working with Global Water Challenge and Ducks Unlimited to revitalize habitats and help keep bees, birds and other wildlife happy. 💧 4. Agriculture depends on clean water. 💧 Every plant and animal needs clean water to live. By helping farmers adopt practices that reduce runoff, we’re helping avoid water pollution and improving water quality. 💧 5. Efficient irrigation saves water. 💧 Using less water to grow more sounds like a win-win, right? That’s why we’re working with precision irrigation company Goanna Ag to help farmers maximize crop yields and minimize water use.
