We’re proud to announce that Junior Achievement (JA Worldwide) has been nominated for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize 🕊️. Through our century of impact, JA has operated in big cities, rural communities, and everywhere in between, including in areas of political instability, violence, and war. Even in refugee camps, students not only build resilience in the face of trauma and chaos but also develop hope for their futures as job creators, leaders, and innovators who actively contribute to the peace of their communities 🌱. As instability grows around the world, Asheesh Advani, CEO of JA Worldwide, recognizes the challenges: “The next decade will demand a workforce that is not just skilled, but adaptable and entrepreneurial. With AI transforming the world, millions of young people face the risk of being left behind—unemployable, unproductive, and disheartened—leaving economies to stagnate and societies to falter. JA prepares young people for the road ahead, providing skills-based education and empowering a shift in mindset from ‘I can’t’ to ‘I can’.” JA’s focus on problem-solving, conflict resolution, and communication skills—coupled with opportunities for cross-cultural connections and building self-efficacy in individuals and communities—actively helps young people build a more prosperous and peaceful society. Without economic empowerment and prosperity for all communities, peace is not sustainable. 🤩 I keep being amazed 🤩 Some call it organizational culture, but I still believe there’s something magical about it. When people from five continents come together and, despite the miles that separate us, share a common language, the same sense of commitment, and a deep passion for doing more and doing better. When you can feel the trust and genuine support in the air. When work and personal life aren’t two things to balance but an integrated way of being. This past week, the Senior Leadership Team of JA Worldwide—representing over 120 countries and every corner of the world—came together to connect, learn, challenge ourselves, and dream big. Huge thanks to Z Zurich Foundation for making it possible and to Gregory Renand, whom we once welcomed in Buenos Aires and who now opened the doors of the Zurich Development Center to us. At Junior Achievement Americas, we are inspired by the impact we create in every young person we reach, but we know we can go even further. We dream of reaching millions. Growth doesn’t have to mean sacrificing quality—scale and impact can go hand in hand. That’s why we’ve set ourselves a bold goal: to reach 10% of the world’s youth—100 million young people, 15 million in our region. Too ambitious? Maybe. But aiming high pushes us to reinvent ourselves, and the results are already proving it’s possible. Digital transformation, new channels, strategic partnerships, innovative funding models—we are exploring it all. Because if we can support a young person discover their entrepreneurial spirit, manage their finances, prepare for the world of work, and, most importantly, gain confidence that they can change their future—and their community’s—then it’s all worth it. A huge thank you to Johanna Aebi, for welcoming us in her home country, to Prat Panda from Accenture for facilitating the SLT Summit, to Marla Capozzii and McKinsey & Company for leading JA’s strategy refresh, and to every colleague on the Senior Leadership Team of JA Worldwide for proving that deep collaboration is not just possible—it’s also energizing, inspiring, and a lot of fun. 💡 How far can we go? “A veces sentimos que lo que hacemos es tan solo una gota en el mar, pero el mar sería menos si le faltara una gota.” Madre Teresa de Calcuta. Sin ánimo de polemizar con alguien a quien admiro profundamente, en Junior Achievement Americas no nos conformamos solo con una gota. Nos desvela la escala. Nos maravilla el impacto que generamos en cada joven, pero soñamos con llegar a miles, a millones. Estamos convencidos de que crecer no significa sacrificar impacto. Cantidad no tiene que ser sinónimo de menos calidad. Queremos todo. Como decimos en mis pagos: "la chancha y los veinte". Por eso, pensamos y repensamos continuamente cómo llevar propuestas de calidad a cada vez más jóvenes. Nos propusimos un desafío audaz: alcanzar al 10% de la juventud en nuestra región, "solo" 15 millones de jóvenes. ¿Un delirio? Puede ser. Pero apuntar alto nos impulsa a reinventarnos, y los resultados ya están siendo asombrosos. Transformación digital, nuevos canales, alianzas estratégicas con empresas, gobiernos y organizaciones, modelos innovadores de financiamiento... Estamos evaluando todo. Porque lograr que un joven descubra y desarrolle su espíritu emprendedor, maneje sus finanzas, se prepare para el mundo del trabajo y, sobre todo, se sienta más seguro de que puede cambiar su futuro, y el de su comunidad, vale la pena. 👉 Los 2,2 millones (!!) de jóvenes a quienes impactamos el último año son una muestra de hacer lo imposible posible. Gracias a todos los que lo están haciendo realidad. Hoy, mi reconocimiento especial va para los equipos de las 26 oficinas de país en nuestra región y a cada uno de los que integran equipo regional.
