I’m incredibly honored to have been recognized as one of the winners in this year’s Young Techpreneur Project, organized by the HKFYG Social Innovation and Youth Business Unit, and sponsored by the Lo Kwee Seong Foundation. Serving on the Advisory Committee was a privilege, but being named one of the winning teams is truly humbling. This experience has allowed me to engage with some of the brightest minds in Hong Kong's startup ecosystem and witness the innovation and passion driving our community. 【𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐲𝐕𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 | 𝐉𝐀𝐏𝐉𝐀𝐏 𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐬 𝐛𝐢𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬】 Supported by PolyU's entrepreneurial programme, Ms Rosie Chan, a graduate of the Polytechnic University School of Design, has established JAPJAP Zero Waste Limited (JAPJAP). JAPJAP uses bio-tech (black soldier flies) in a modular upcycled pallet system. By consuming various food waste, it reduces landfill reliance. The company advocates for sustainable living and collaborates with STEAM-based organizations to promote public awareness and education. Recently, JAPJAP has been selected as a winning team in the "The 3rd Young Techpreneur Project". KTEO actively promotes innovative entrepreneurship education and provides various supports for PolyU's startups. JAPJAP has previously received funding from PolyU MicroFund and PolyU Angel Fund, which accelerated their business development and enhanced their market positioning. Besides this, Industrial Center (IC) of PolyU has been providing technical advice, fabrication, and prototyping workspace to further develop their ideas, enhancing their product's functionality and connectivity. KTEO and IC have been supporting and inviting start-ups to connect and exchange ideas with other project base users. JAPJAP and other project base users were invited to participate, showcasing and sharing their start-up ideas and products with the PolyU community.
