This week, Ahava residents enjoyed a musical visit from Matt Price Drumming! Together, they drummed to the beat of familiar tunes and even created some new rhythms as well! 🥁

That's Aging. As Ourselves.
About us
Through a comprehensive network of residential lifestyles, health services, and home care, the Jewish Association on Aging (JAA) has helped Pittsburgh-area seniors enjoy their best possible lifestyle while they age. JAA’s commitment has been to honor and enhance the lives of older adults through quality care consistent with Jewish values and tradition. JAA provides comprehensive services designed to keep seniors safe, independent, and connected to the community. Though Jewish is in its name, half of JAA's 4,000 residents and clients served each year are of other faiths. JAA offers a continuum of individualized quality care, including The Residence at Weinberg Village, JAA Home Health Services, Sivitz Hospice & Palliative Care, Mollie’s Meals, Anathan Adult Day Memory Care Services, Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Terrace, PT@ JCC, AHAVA Memory Care Center of Excellence, and The New Riverview Apartments. We hope everyone had a chag sameach—happy holidays! At the JAA, Rabbi Small led holiday services for our residents and Anathan members. Our festivities included classic holiday foods like apples dipped in honey and delicious honey cake. We also enjoyed gatherings in the sukkah and celebrations with the Torah on Simchat Torah.

This week, students from Elizabeth Forward High School’s Honors Choir, Tri-M Music Honor Society, and Chorus shared their time and talents with the JAA. Before their performance, they volunteered at AHAVA, spending time connecting with our residents and helping to prepare our outdoor spaces for the fall season. Later, they performed a variety of beautiful songs for AHAVA residents and Anathan members. We enjoyed their visit and hope to see them again soon!

We are incredibly grateful to have received a generous $20,000 grant this morning from the Ladies Hospital Aid Society (LHAS) for our Mollie's Meals delivery program. Through Mollie's Meals, participants enjoy delicious and nutritious meals, easing the burden for those who can no longer shop or prepare their own meals. We extend our heartfelt thanks to LHAS for supporting this program and helping our seniors stay well-nourished!
