"As a health equity scholar, I also see voting as an opportunity for people and communities to weigh in on decisions that can affect them and their health. In a new American Public Health Association Nation’s Health article, Glenn E. Schneider, Heidi Hancher-Rauch, PhD, MCHES and Karen Mancera-Cuevas DrPH, MS, MPH, CHES, members of the Public Health Advocacy Consensus Task Force (PH-ACT), examine the importance of improving advocacy instruction to ensure students are equipped with the skills needed to effectively engage in policymaking.
