We believe in the power of career-focused and state-of-the-art learning environments and the award-winning Aldevron tower at North Dakota State University is a perfect example.⚕️ The rapidly growing College of Health Professions was pursuing progressive teaching strategies to meet critical workforce shortages and departmental accreditation requirements. The addition to former Sudro Hall created a solution that co-locates the School of Pharmacy and Nursing, Allied Science, and Public Health and provides more hands-on learning spaces for students. 🏆AIA North Dakota, Honor Award Learn more about how we design for higher education with the future in mind: https://lnkd.in/gqSicJaT

Investment in a second-life opportunity for an underutilized & energy-hungry legacy classroom building is a foundational “three birds - one stone” story for the UND Merrifield Hall Renovation where the JLG team is delivering a full reimagining of the 1929 historic building in the University of North Dakota historic district. As Merrifield approaches its 100 yr anniversary it does so with: - a century’s worth of legacy celebrated. - an energy and embodied-carbon story positioning it for an impactful (and resource responsible) next 100 years. - and an 21st century overhaul in education pedagogy and academic workplace innovation. The trifecta is transforming Merrifield into a reimagined central campus gem and cultural destination for students, faculty, and returning alumni. This project’s story and lessons-learned is experience has the potential to be leveraged on hundreds of campuses across the country with similar deferred maintenance / cultural burdens. Slated for a soft opening in January, look for the official ribbon cutting celebration later in 2025. Video with more here: https://lnkd.in/gGwfA9M5

We had an incredible time at the 2024 A4LE LearningSCAPES Conference in Portland last week! 🌟 Todd Medd, Healthcare Practice Studio Leader, Dan Miller, K12 Practice Studio Leader, and Katie Becker, K12 planner, and Stephanie Nelson, COO of Anne Carlsen Center led a breakout session on the Anne Carlsen Center Project in Jamestown, ND. We enjoyed connecting with innovative educators, sharing insights, and exploring the future of learning environments.
