Meet Gianna, a passionate enthusiast of dance and movement. After multiple knee dislocations, including a significant injury that required surgery, Gianna was diagnosed with trochlear dysplasia, an abnormality of the knee's trochlear groove which puts her at higher risk of dislocation. Gianna has faced her challenges with incredible spirit and determination, and her love for dance fuels her recovery. With every physical therapy session, she’s getting stronger and closer to returning to the stage. “I have come a long way but still have a long way to go,” Gianna shares. “I am so grateful to be under the supervision of the best team at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital.” Thanks to surgeon Dr. Stephen Storer from the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Orthopedic Center and the dedicated [U18] Sports Medicine therapy team at Memorial Hospital Miramar, Gianna is receiving exceptional care tailored to her needs, helping her get back to pursuing her dreams.
