From our VP of Program Rani Snyder, who talked to Carrie Henning-Smith, an expert on rural aging about the important topic of social isolation and social connection in rural communities. Check it out.
I recently had the pleasure of speaking with Carrie Henning-Smith, co-director of The University of Minnesota Rural Health Research Center, about challenges of #SocialIsolation among #OlderAdults in #rural areas. We discussed what social isolation is and how it is different in rural areas - as well as the progress that is being made to ensure #OlderAdults living in rural areas feel socially connected and less lonely. Carrie shared the latest initiatives that The University of Minnesota Rural Health Research Center has developed to help rural older adults age well in their communities. Here’s our conversation. There is progress being made to support those most impacted by rural social isolation! https://lnkd.in/e_DdUT2n
