Picture this You see a LinkedIn post, fill out a form, and decide to show up at a house. As you walk in, you're caught off guard. There are people skateboarding in the backyard, someone brought their dog, and in the corner, two people are dancing next to a massive speaker. You think, “Wait, isn’t this supposed to be an uptight business founder event?” Then someone approaches you, and you exchange numbers. The next day, you’re having coffee together, and you realize—this person could be the co-founder of your dreams. A few days later, you bump into each other again, this time at an impromptu potluck at a mansion. The host hands out kooky cards to spark conversations about values. During the activity, your coffee friend opens up, and now you’re 100% sure they’re the one. Fast forward through a half-dozen more events, and you finally pitch your idea to them—at a retreat, in the mountains, inside a castle, surrounded by 30 other entrepreneurs. They say maybe, but you still have a blast with them, sipping beers in the jacuzzi. You also connect with some founders playing poker who are eager to help you grow your company.
