"The internet is full of beautiful inspirational quotes about empowerment and resilience after a setback. One of my favourites is Paulo Coelho’s: "The secret of life is to fall seven times and to get up eight times." But sometimes you need more than a motivational quote or a poster. Dealing with a job loss is a tough reality that I’ve faced a few times. I want to share the strategies that have helped me to stay resilient, build a strong career, and be kind to myself during those difficult times." Sandra Yönter shares tips and advice for transforming a layoff into a catalyst for unexpected growth. 👉 Full post: https://bit.ly/3LIMfDi #womenintech #layoff #careertransitions #growth

"Menopause is a natural part of aging, yet its impact on women in the workplace is often overlooked. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, more than 40% of female workers are aged 45 or older and entering their prime leadership years. Given that 85% of women experience menopause-related symptoms, this lack of attention is not just surprising—it's concerning." Redeat Gebeyehu, Lead UX Researcher at Midi Health, shares the hidden struggles of midlife women and advocates for solutions that enhance their well-being and productivity. 👀 Read the full post: https://bit.ly/3WzLaE0 #womenintech #menopause #aging #workforce #midlife

Our latest budget breakdown features a 39-year-old marketing professional in Austin, TX, who earns a $14K monthly salary. She wants to know: "I'd love tricks on EASY budget check-ins and accountability hacks. The only system I’ve made work for me required an hour or so a week of checking in on all my accounts to see where my money was going and balance our budget as I went along. It got overwhelming. What are the simple basics I have to do each month to make sure I am on track?" 👉 Read the full budget breakdown: https://bit.ly/3Wog7Lb #womenintech #budgetbreakdown #budgeting #accountability

"Interestingly enough, we often “do not have time” for things that are not really important to us. Even if we do not consciously prioritize things, we do it subconsciously. When I hear, "I do not have time for yoga,” or volunteering, or learning a new language, I reply, "It’s just not high enough on your list of priorities"." Henrietta Dombrovskaya shares her thoughts on time budgeting: why time is our most valuable resource, how we can take a values-based approach, and the most frequent time-budgeting mistakes with ways to avoid them. 👉 Read the full post: https://bit.ly/3zDSIMN #womenintech #timebudgeting #timemanagement #budgeting

"'Eww' said an executive when I asked about storing the milk I expressed while in the office. The pressure from your pediatrician and the mommy-sphere to breastfeed vs. the struggle of the reality for a working mom creates a baffling struggle. I was surprised by the juxtaposition. I wish I had been prepared to advocate for resources to make breastfeeding easy while in the office, traveling, or at home." Samantha Rideout, Director of Product Marketing, shares her experience returning from maternity leave and how women can avoid internalizing systemic bias they may face. 👉 Full post: https://bit.ly/3zvJgv9 #womenintech #parenting #motherhood #maternityleave #returntowork

"Last summer, after more than three years of forgetting to make appointments, I was diagnosed with ADHD (inattentive and hyperactive - a twofer!). This explained - and validated - so much about my lived experience; I couldn’t believe it had taken me nearly 40 years to figure this out. But it’s not all my fault; in this process of self-discovery, I also learned that it is not unusual for women to be diagnosed until later in life. While ADHD diagnoses in young, fidgety boys were quite common when I was growing up, it never occurred to me that my own hyperactive mind was anything other than overachieving creativity (both traits celebrated in young girls). Because the way girls are typically socialized to behave very closely overlaps with the types of behaviors used to mask ADHD symptoms, unfortunately, many young girls go undiagnosed. For most of my life, I thought that if I just tried a little harder, I would find that these things came easily to me. But it turns out, it took a lot of mental energy for me to mask what I was really experiencing, to try to appear normal. And I was good at it for many years! But once my second child was born, I no longer had the capacity to pretend." Kim Rohrer, Co-founder at PeakHR, shares her experience with neurodivergence and offers advice to leaders on how they can create more inclusive workplaces. 🧠 Read the full post: https://bit.ly/4eIwV6Z #womenintech #neurodivergence #deib #adhd #latediagnosis
