It's an interesting title given that the projection is for USA treenuts crop size to be less in 10 years than today. I don't believe it! Reach out to us if you want to chat about it. https://lnkd.in/g-6xtqxm

Some thoughts on the bloom.
What do rain and low temps have to do with bees and almonds? Over the next month, honey bees will be critical to setting the California almond crop. In the Northern Sac Valley I was able to travel from Red Bluff to Yuba City yesterday. In general, on the west side of the Sacramento River, bloom is starting and is about 20%-30%; on the east side of the river, buds are just starting to break in earlier varieties. The industry is confident that to keep profitable pricing for growers for this year and the years to come, we need to maintain a sub-3-billion lb. crop. All eyes will be on rain and temps as the industry assesses "bee hours." Here is a great article from an old friend Dani Lightle that discusses the nuances: https://lnkd.in/gN27f8QD

We are hearing from growers up and down the state about fewer hives available me and those that are, are down from 8 frames to 6 or less. https://lnkd.in/gXeiWQMT
