Juno's CEO Jonathan Scherr helps break down the development equation, what's been so hard this last year, and how innovation can help get development moving again.

Congratulations to our own Natasha Sadikin for being recognized by Business Insider as one of its 20 leaders building a new future for the real-estate industry. "Sadikin is helping usher in a new era of conscious construction. The 31-year-old is the senior development associate at Juno, a San Francisco-based modular-building company that uses renewable timber instead of steel or concrete to create repeatable building systems. ... Sadikin works through all phases of building — from site-acquisition to design to construction management — all while keeping sustainability in mind. 'Construction is one of the biggest contributors to climate-change problems,' she said. 'The more that we can be responsible with how we put the products into being, but also think about how these buildings are going to be here for a hundred years, then I think it would be better for developers all around.' Sadikin believes that being a good developer means being a generalist, and by having her hands in a project from start to finish, she helps create a better blueprint for building.
