When courts release individuals from jail pretrial, they can place them under pretrial supervision. During this phase, individuals will meet with a pretrial officer who will help them comply with their rules - or conditions - of release. When they are unable to follow the rules, even for reasons beyond their control, the pretrial officer must report this non-compliance to the court -- starting a process that could ultimately send the individual back to jail. Four pretrial agency directors from Allegheny County, PA, Lucas County, OH, Kane County, IL, and City/County of San Francisco, CA join the PET Network series to discuss how they take an equity lens to reporting non-compliance to the court and how they work with judges to keep individuals from returning back to jail. At its core, the Coach(referee) Model for Change (CRMC) believes all individuals under community supervision can change and improve their lives. However, the CRMC recognizes that community supervision organizations must transform the way they do business to really help people thrive. They must become coaching organizations. Join JSP President and Coach Preston Brown in the last installment of this summer's Invest in Different Series -- CRMC: Building a Coaching Organization. Together, they will unpack the three core components to a coaching organization: (1) coaching environment, (2) coaching infrastructure, and, (3) coaching performance measures. They'll give insights and offer plays from their playbooks on how agency leaders can adopt each of these components immediately. Register here ➡ https://lnkd.in/g3qhcucX

The job we're currently doing in community supervision is not the job we want to do. We have doubled down on punishing people under supervision rather than supporting people change and thrive. The Coach(referee) Model for Change starts with transforming the supervision officer-individual relationship while demanding community supervision agencies, and their way of doing business, must change, too. Join JSP President and Coach Preston Brown in the last installment of this summer's Invest in Different Series -- CRMC: Building a Coaching Organization. Together, they will unpack the three core components to a coaching organization. They'll also offer agency leaders and staff insights from their own playbooks on how best to tranform any community supervision agency into a coaching organization.
