Last night, JVS had the privilege of joining Santander leaders for an evening reception celebrating our longstanding collaboration and the shared commitment of our regional partners. This recognition is especially meaningful to JVS, as it reflects not only a significant financial investment in our mission but also highlights how employers like Santander benefit from workforce development programs that JVS proudly operates. This past April, for example, JVS was delighted to see one of our Bank Career Training program participants, an immigrant now living in Medford, graduate from the program and take a job at Santander as a local branch teller. We’re grateful to Santander for their generous contributions over the years and for being an excellent employer partner as we seek to connect our clients to high-quality, long-term jobs and careers. #WorkforceDevelopment #Partnership #JVS

Wonderful time at the LISC convening. Bringing back a lot of green jobs ideas! Adalberto E. Jaimes and Silvana Bastante Muñoz thanks for the great company and partnership.
Day 3 of the 2024 FOC National Convening in Mesa, Arizona, and the energy is incredible! It’s been inspiring to connect with colleagues from across the country, learning new tools like the Financial Coaching for Entrepreneurs toolkit and sharing best practices to continue building an even stronger financial education framework for JVS Boston clients. I’m excited to bring these new ideas back to Boston and further empower the communities we serve. Grateful to be here alongside Silvana Bastante Muñoz from our LISC partner and Amanda (Mandy) Townsend, our Senior VP of Employer Engagement. #FinOpp24 #LISC #BuildingFinancialEmpowerment #InclusiveFuture

Thank you to the City of Boston for inviting us to the Immigrant Advancement Forum: Our Future Now!, hosted by the City of Boston | Mayor's Office for Immigrant Advancement. It was a great day that brought together stakeholders from government agencies, non-profit organizations, businesses, and community groups to learn more about how to work collaboratively to support immigrant communities and their needs.

I am grateful to share the wonderful news that our ArLab collaboration with Quincy College has been selected by the MassEcon as one of its nine honored companies that have launched in the Commonwealth in the past year. As the leader of an 86-year-old organization (JVS Boston) that’s partnered with a 66-year-old organization (Quincy College), it’s especially exciting to be celebrating the birthday of an amazing one-year-old: ArLab, a state-of-the-art career institute that is giving hundreds of people real-world, hands-on skill development for careers in healthcare and biotechnology. As always, Secretary of Economic Development Yvonne Hao was such an inspiring, energizing speaker at the MassEcon event—what a fantastic partner she is to JVS Boston and the whole workforce development sector. Thank you, MassEcon, for your recognition of everyone who is making ArLab such a big and growing success. A special thank you to Susan Houston for the encouragement and support.

We are so excited to share that this week ArLab was recognized by MassEcon, a non-profit alliance of private and public sector partners that champions Massachusetts as the best place for businesses to start and grow. ArLab was among nine organizations MassEcon recognized at its annual event, with featured keynote speaker Yvonne Hao, Secretary of the Executive Office of Economic Development. 🔬 To bridge the gaps that exist in workforce system and the job market, JVS Boston and Quincy College opened ArLab, a state-of-the-art healthcare and biotechnology career institute, providing hands-on skill development that equips people for careers in healthcare and biotechnology. There is a critical shortage of workers in these sectors, so preparing people to get jobs through education, skills development, and job training is more relevant than ever. ArLab primarily focuses on job training, educational pathways, and creating entry points by preparing students through instruction, experiential learning, and simulated training. Since the doors opened last year, ArLab has made an enormous impact on the lives of the nearly 500 students who enrolled. The extensive, relevant preparation every student — most coming from underrepresented and underserved groups — receives provides every student with practical knowledge and skills, so they can enter the workforce right away and earn well beyond the state’s minimum wage. 🤝 ArLab is a testament to Quincy College and JVS Boston’s deep commitment to economic opportunity. For decades, JVS Boston and Quincy College have partnered to create career paths for people who face barriers to employment. This distinct partnership of higher education, workforce development, public sector partners, and employers makes ArLab one-of-a-kind, and we deeply appreciate this recognition by MassEcon.
